Which proves... nothing at all, particularly since "falling through" usually means "we offered but could never come to an agreement on value and they never said yes to us."

Of course they tried to shop Souray to teams needed defensemen. None of those teams were stupid enough to actually pay assets for him.

Agreeing is boring and typically done in quiet. I agree with her here. It's not like he failed a physical that prevented him from becoming a Star.

If it were posted by someone else, I would agree with you. But Jason has been pushing that "they were going to trade Ribeiro for Souray" (if I remember his rumor correctly) rumor without any real evidence for nearly a year now. He's pretty clearly presenting this as "evidence" when it's really pretty meaningless.

If he doesn't want to bring this up again, then don't bring it up again.

Plus if people are going to continue to post ridiculous rumors (how's that team being sold in 1-2 months rumor going for you, Cin?), they deserve to have them picked apart.

Quick fantasy question. Wasn't sure where to put this, but I'm looking at making a deal for Neal (heh) in the near future but am worried about how cold he's been. I feel like the kid will snap out of it, but is there anything going on with him? I noticed his ice time has been cut a bit.

Neal is a streaky player and he was in a bit of a slump and got moved off the 1st line, he is back up there now and I'm sure will score his goals and get his points but if you are looking for consistent production he might not be the best bet. For example last year at the end of the season he had 3 goals in the last 20 games.

To me it seems like the perfect move. Aside from the Joe/Stars familiarity he is a right shot RW, leader, multiple Cup winner, his playoff numbers (goals and points) are relatively the same as his career regular season averages (even slightly higher in postseason). We should forget about Langs being NJ's space goat; the guy would be a perfect fit on the roster and is also in keeping with the intangibles Nieuwendyk has shown to covet.

Jamie Langenbrunner, I'd like you to meet Mike Ribeiro, and I think you're familiar with Brenden.

Make it happen Joe.

I'd love to have him back. More leadership and heart, he fits the mold here perfectly.

If it meant keeping Barch off the roster for forever...then I'm all for it . Wouldn't be against it at all.

New Jersey board is saying Langenbrunner to Dallas, done deal.

Wonder what we gave up? They're hoping it's Campbell.

Mr. Dallas Dave says Philly and Kings are out of it.

If it is Dallas I expect either Niskanen or Fistric and a pick (maybe a 3rd)

I'd be more disappointed if it were Fistric. I am all over it if it is for Nisky

hopefully Niskanen + something.. Do the Devils need a "niskanen" or "fistric" -type of D-man the most??..

It better not be Glennie or something like that..

I agree I would rather it be Niskanen but with the amount of times that Fistric has been a healthy scratch I don't think management seems to be as high on him as fans. I would bet that NJ would be more interested in Niskanen though.

Niskanen would be awesome.

Would be pretty sad if it's Fistric.

Langenbrunner positively a Dallas STAR. Conditional pick. Could be as high as first round if he re-signs. -Eklund-
