Today's injury update from Trotz is that O'Reilly will likely have surgery. Timetable is now officially indefinite for his return...

Coming from Trotz the "indefinite" makes me fear his leg did explode as some speculated. Although "likely" have surgery may mean a fairly clean break and just a plate or something. If it was really bad you'd think they'd have known almost since the game that it needed surgery. I hope they get good news in the surgery and it goes well.

If the bone shattered and they have to put a plate in, yeah it's gonna be a while. I have plates in each fibula. One was a clean break, the other was just in pieces. I also broke it toward the top, I never felt that nor did it ever notice it until I saw the xray showing it was broke. That was weird.

Didn't know about the salary part of the waiver, thought it was just about age/experience.

I would rather not see Lundmark brought in. He's not a top 6 center and that's what we're going to need. We go with what we have and then look at either Lombardi coming back or trade at the deadline. I think we have a team full of almosts and to me that's all Lundmark is at this point, an almost.

Good grief. This is getting nutty.

If the saying, "What doesn't kill you makes you stronger" is true then next season we should be concussion proof, break proof, puck proof, and bullet proof and, in theory, should be able to injure opposing teams simply by looking in their direction.

Next up, the fans start getting injured.

Yeah, recall waivers are all about salary. It's the unofficial PHPA "veteran salary cap". In essence, if you want a chance to get recalled, you'll make $105k or less...

so i was correct in assuming the mueller outplayed lundmark, and thus is getting first crack at the job.

maybe lombardi will remember who he is and make this all a moot subject. one can hope

So he's looking at 12 weeks until the screws come out what does the team do with him then?

Ok, out 2 months and rehabbing for a couple of weeks in Milwaukee. The way he was slumping, might be the best thing for the Predators.

Also, will (Canthe Preds make a trade for a center?

Arnott says he's willing to help a team in the playoffs.

Legwand
Goc
Smithson
Spaling(yeah hes hurt but apparently not top bad)
Wilson(in a pinch)

I dont see poile making a desperation trade, more likely he'll pick up a serviceable veteran for a pick nearer the deadline when more players are available.

I'm right there with you, I still have some screws in my fibula from 1990 from a snowboarding accident. Since then I've had my 7 inch pin removed from inside my fibula - what a joy that was. I'm hoping for the best for O'Reilly, but he has sports medicine on his side. I just don't believe he'll be back this season. Sucks.

I rather enjoyed having the screw in my ankle removed. It couldn't be done under general anesthesia only local. Which meant I could feel the vibrations on the screw from the screw driver in the bone itself that can't be numbed....totally surreal.

Although thinking back...the only reason the screw was removed in the first place was that it started backing out on it's own.....now that hurt.

That's a trip, exactly for me too. My pin started wiggling around while wearing shoes and they didn't put me asleep to remove it and you can't numb a bone. I never loved breathing in/out a brown bag so much so as I did right after they pulled out the pin and showed it to me.
