Franchise Player Poll: #9 Columbus

I'm aware I skipped Colorado. I have a problem debating this one and don't know how to settle it myself so I'll ask you guys as you vote for Rick Nash to leave a comment on the situation. Should I:

A) Keep going with the 3 forward system(If you pick that option, pick between these 3 to be on the poll: Sakic, Forsberg, Tanguay, Hejduk)

B) Make an exception for them and leave off their #3 prospect who no one will vote for anyway and add the 4th forward spot?

Rules for this poll as always:

1) You are voting for the franchise player who will receive a 4 year, 24 million dollar "franchise player" contract. Everyone else will be a UFA, including prospects so who you don't vote for will be on sale to the highest bidder. This WILL NOT count against the cap (has always been a rule, but left it off the condensed version, but since people were wondering about cap situation in the last one I put it back up).

2) Player will play all 82 games for that 4 year span and goalies will start 65+ games a season. Basically the player will be immune to injury for 4 years.

Anaheim: JS Giguere (49%)
Atlanta: Ilya Kovalchuk (64%)
Boston: Joe Thornton (95%)
Buffalo: Thomas Vanek (40%)
Calgary: Jarome Iginla (92%)
Carolina: Eric Staal (81%)
Chicago: Tuomo Ruutu (92%)
Colorado: Have a problem, see above

Suchy!

Nah, just kidding. This one's no contest for Nash.

And for the Avs I'd add a 4th forward spot.

Why even make this poll? You should skip a team when it is this obvious.

Nash obviously, adding the fourth forward for Colorado makes sense

I can see a case being made for Zherdev, but I went with Nash ...

And as far as the COL poll goes, yeah, when a team is that heavy up front, with almost nothing in the system ... add the 4th forward ...

Just curious, are you going to list current UFA's anywhere? The Glen Murray's, Paul Kariya's, Pavol Demitra's, etc off the world. Are you going to include them on their last team or maybe have a seperate one just for current UFA's?

I like this concept, this has been fun every day.

Nash. What a player he's developed into, at such a young age. Zheredev has a lot of flash, but Nash will be much more dominant. Some good things up front for Columbus, although nowhere near as much on the back end. Denis has quietly been good the last two years, too.

Yeah, add that fourth forward for Colorado. Heck, you could add a fifth and a sixth forward (or a fifth forward and fourth defenceman), and they'd still stand a better chance of getting votes than anyone in Colorado's once-proud system.

If it's a top player on their previous team, yes. There hasn't been anybody that really stands out on the UFA list that matches that except Zhitnik with Buffalo and Glen Murray (who I figured would get less votes than Samsonov and Bergeron). Demitra and Palffy are two guys who will definitely be listed on their previous teams lists. There aren't too many top guys out there so I'm not sure of making a list just of UFAs, but good point to bring up. Glad you've liked the polls so far.

Seems like the 4th forward option is the popular choice so it will be added for Colorado. Next time if I have a similar problem I'll ask a few teams ahead of time. I apologize to all those people who would have voted for Peter Budaj, but he won't be on the poll for Colorado.

I pick choice B.. it makes more sense to have their best players over their best prospects when talking about a multi million dollar franchise player.
