Yep, the 1st and 4th goals. Bourque with an assist on the 3rd US goal. Fasth with the 2nd Sweden goal.

Kreider is a friggin horse. He should start dominating college when he gets back.

IMHO I wouldnt pick Adam Larson with a top 10 pick. I just dont see whats so special about him.

He is receiving what I call the Luca Sbisa treatment. His nationality allows him to play at a higher level of competition early and he gets praise for holding his own. Luca Sbisa has failed to progress at a high rate since he was drafted, and Larsson hasn't improved that much this season either. He's a good player, with a great outlet pass, smarts and size, but he does nothing spectacular. Any team who drafts him is incredibly lucky, but he isn't the difference maker you want with a top 3 pick.

Yeah, maybe Gormley is a good comparable? I liked Gormley a lot more though.

I'll be watching. I want to see what kind of character all three of these kids have.

Fasth coming off his captain Gordon Bombaying of his Sweden team
Bourque and Kreider coming off that embarrassing loss to Canada.

Should be interesting
And the winner is???? The NYR and their fans....

Exactly why Garth Snow will pick him 1st overall.

Read my mind. It's hard to impress as a defenseman in these tournaments but he just doesnt shine at all. In my years of watching the WJC I've been most impressed with Subban, Ellis and Doughty. Those guys just took the ice with a mindset of give me the puck and watch what I do with it. And they could also take the body because they had stocky frames. Larsson just didn't stand out to me at all.

That sounds like the Victor Hedman treatment as well. Vic has better tools but he never really was a standout on Sweden in my eyes.

In terms of no particular skill standing out? Yeah that's definitely a good comparison. Gormley is a very good skater though, Larsson is probably better in the other departments though. Gormley didn't receive nearly enough praise though, Larsson gets too much.

Doughty was ridonkulous...i woulda taken him first overall in that draft...granted i woulda been wrong considering how ridiculous Stamkos is...but still, thats how impressed with him i was.

Just finished watching the game.

SPOILER ALERT!!!!!!!
For those who haven't seen it yet.

Kreider called out the veterans of the team, and he backed it up by scoring two big goals.

Fasth scored a big goal for Sweden to try and get them back in it. Great second effort on the goal.

And Bourque played a good game.

This was the way USA needed to play. That loss to Caada humbled them. They played more as a team. The passed, the stood up for eachother. Very proud of the way they played today.

First time in WJC history USA Hockey won back-to-back medals.

That's a big accomplishment for us. Its an important medal for the program.

Congratulations USA Hockey!

Boy, were they hyping him big time. I just don't see it. He was "OK" against the better teams Sweden faced. All in all.... I found the hype unwarranted.

Sucked to lose but Kreider netting the last goal helped some. Fasth has been really good for Sweden this tournament, him and a few other players took on bigger roles then expected of them when our supposed leaders weren't playing up to their expectations.

This tournament was something of a coming out party for Fasth.

He looks good. Very promising player.

Is there a place to watch a replay of the game or at least the highlights. I missed it. Thanks.

Just to be clear about something-

Kreider didn't have some grand team meeting where he yelled and screamed, etc. All he did was talk to Billy Jaffe in a post game interview before going to the locker room and said something like "Canada played like men tonight and we didn't". I dont even think he said anything about veterans as opposed to the newbies.

Jaffe was just trying to dramaticize the performance by Kreider as some heroic act.

I'll see if I can take some videos of Kreider's goals from my Blackberry when I watch the game later tonight... Will upload to YouTube... Won't be the best quality (obviously) but it's better than nothing.

tsn, you can watch it there. Dunno if it is the whole game, but it's more than usual highlights. I can't find it now (probably because GMG is in progress), but I found a page with a list of games earlier today and you could watch all of them.
