From what I've seen this year, Frolov isn't worth a pinky of Zherdev.

Meh, he isn't exactly lighting up the AHL at the moment. If it is only for a game or two I'd like to see someone different get the call up just to see how they can do.

I doubt we call anyone up. Shelley will play, Powe will move up.

Wellwood isn't really expected to light it up anywhere as a professional. More of a 3rd/4th line guy.

Yes. Just in front of Giroux.

What stats did I misapply? Isn't his scoring pace outstanding? Isn't he one of the best at drawing penalties? Did I ever say his assists stats is great with Flyers? Wasn't this stats great with other teams?

Did I ever say Laviolette needs to play Z for 20 min a game? In fact, at this point I think Laviolette is doing pretty good job with Z. When everybody was excited here a few games ago, I was the one to point out Laviolette needs to keep Z focused, because I knew things were going to get worse. The same as now I know they going to improve.

Z is probably the most skilled player you have (Richards said this, not me). On the team featuring Carter, Briere, Girox, and Richards himself it does say a lot. Hopefully Laviolette will figure out how to use him effectively. Hopefully he is figuring this out right now.

If you think that's a "gotcha" point with me, then you're barking up the wrong tree. Folks think I'm a Giroux "hater" here.

So, you just ignore all the facts that point to the fact that Z doesn't deserve minutes over the majority of the forwards on this team?

His individual scoring pace is outstanding.

This is not an individual sport.

Individual statistics are not that impressive to me (or coaches).

Both Zherdev and Briere have incredible goal scoring rates per 60 minutes right now. The team scores 1.32 more goals per 60 minutes with Briere on the ice.

Z is a fringe player with this Flyers team... that's just the facts. There are a lot of tremendously skilled offensive players that can't carry the jock of more well rounded guys. He's one of 'em. That's without getting into the fact that he's done a horrible job of playing with his linemates and sharing the puck.

Maybe so. But if it stays this way, there is nothing that distinguishes you from the last year team. Don't expect a different result.

No one is hating, people are just being realistic. Lavi obviously has problems with Z, he isn't just making things up

Or, most likely, he had problems with the whole team, and once again used Zherdev as a scapegoat. Nothing new -- Tortorella used to do it all the time.

Or maybe it's just nothing -- just a "groin issue"

Last year this time, we were in the gutter.

Right now we're near the top of the league.

Last year we reached Game 6 of the Conference Finals, with Michael F Leighton between the pipes.

Last year this time, Claude Giroux was en route to a 47 point year... he's currently on pace for 74 pts.

Last year this time, Ville Leino wasn't on the team.

Last year our third pairing was Ryan Parent, Bartulis, Krajicek... this year it's Meszaros and O'Donnell -- a HUGE improvement in quality of play.

So, a LOT distinguishes this team from last year. Seriously, crawl back to the Rangers board and stop embarrassing yourself.

My God, stop with the excuses. Every stop Z has made in the NHL, coaches have had a problem with his play.

I think we need to stop feeding the troll. Maybe then he will go back to the Ranger board and argue with Jonathan and whoever else over there.

Just close this thread and go discuss Gagne. Zherdev is not important -- why making more than 500 posts on the subject? I don't think they all mine...

Have a wondrfull life.

Your last 73 posts were either in this thread... or "I miss Zherdev". The majority of those being in this thread.

In fact, almost half your total posts on HF... in this very thread.

groin injuries can be a pain in the ass to deal with. you can feel good one day, go out and take one shift and pull it again.

At least I never denied my interest in the subject.

But how you can explain your 56 posts on the thread about unimportant player is beyond me.

Please try to keep your posts short. Otherwise with your current rate of 15 posts per day (that you keep for the last 6 years or so) you might not have time to do anything useful.
