Eric Gélinas traded to the Saint-John Sea Dogs...

It's not breaking news but it's one of our own getting traded. Our prospect, Eric Gélinas, was just traded to the #1 team in the "Q" with a 32-5-2 record. He'll most likely be paired with WJC d-men Simon Despés.

Link is in french and I summed up the little article about the move... http://www.rds.ca/lhjmq/chroniques/312671.html

Gelinas to be a teammate for Despres, Jurčo and Houberdeau? Good for him. Like this.

24 pts in 35 games for a guy who played on the 6th worst team in the league... pretty solid numbers for Eric. Stéphane Leroux (prospect expert) talked about the trade this morning on CKAC and said that Gélinas is progressing slowly but is heading in the right direction. He said that if he continues to play the way he's playing at the moment and can add some knowledge from Big Bird (didn't say Big Bird ) at the Devils training camp, this kid can be a steal for the Devils.

He finished by saying that he needs to add a little more grit and intensity to his game cause he plays a "flat line" game at times when he should be cranking up the tempo.

Good. This is like when Palmieri was traded to Belleville.

Hopefully Gelinas will tear it up on his new team.
