Who's next (D'man - Trade or Waivers)

http://tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=348290

Looks like Commodore has been put on waivers, is he worth a pick-up now that 2 of our D are gone for the year.

I see he is under contract for 2 years after this one, worth it?

edit: I think I scared people, changed the title

With a cap hit of $3.75M for the next two years? Absolutely not.

Maybe worse.

He's completely fallen off of Columbus's depth chart.. They don't exactly have world-beaters.

Don't follow CBJ at all, didn't know he was in the press box. Seems more like a band-aid for CBJ then :O

Bottom pairing guy on an average team. Not interested. unless he was making under 1.5M

Boris Valabik

I think he would be a solid depth guy to have. Especially at ~300K (Re-entry). With Gorges out I would rather him than Picard.

I know who you mean but only thinking about a Gill - Valabik pairing gives me nightmares.

Granted Gill will most likely play with Subban for a while but still.

Habs will land Langenbrunner and we will have a former Devils 2nd line.

I would take Valabik before Commodore. Sadly, that doesn't mean much.

I really liked Valabik's potential but he looks like a slow undiscipline d-man with absolutely zero offense. If you think about Hal Gill, he's only taller. Not as good defensively. As bad offensively. More agressive but also too undisciplined.

I don't think he's worth a try. Picard is better.

I would take Valabik too. He can be a lot more useful than Picard

I can't see because he has 2 more years at 3.750 mil, maybe on re entry or if they take Spacek...but that's about it.

What's the point if he can't keep up with the play? At 300k I might take him as #8 though with Hamr out.
