JANUARY SCHEDULE:

QUOTES TO NOTE:

I just saw the puck go in and there was this unbelievable rush. The fans were cheering, and I see my teammates jumping.
It was just a great feeling. I can’t say anything more than that.
- Mats Zuccarello

It was a fun game to play. A lot of action on both ends. Smart decisions on both ends.
It is important in a low scoring game to not give the puck away and we didn’t. We played a very smart game.
- Henrik Lundqvist

I think we get a little bit of our personality back and the style of play we wanted to play. I thought Ward was outstanding.
The good thing about our club is that we didn’t get frustrated, we didn’t force the issue and played the style we wanted to play.
- John Tortorella

Give Langenbrunner a warm welcome. (If he actually gets traded there...)

Avery goes into beast mode. 7 points, 2 goals. Then goes 40+ games without a goal.

Getting a point out of this game would be a good result. Avery with a big game.

Richards gets traded to the Rangers for Anisimov, Roszival and a 2nd right before the game. Richards assists on Gaboriks 5 goals, but Anisimov scores 5 goals himself and it goes into a shootout.

Torts says Rozsival is likely to play, per Jim Cerny.

JimCerny Jim Cerny
Torts says he believes Rozsival will play...also Brandon Prust had"maintenence day" for his sore left shoulder, and will play tomorrow...

I heard Niskanen and Skrastins were both out for the next game after they collided in practice. I wonder what kind of opportunities we might get with a weak third defensive pair.

Yeah Skrastins and Niskanen are day-to-day. Guess we'll wait tomorrow to find out for sure.

This game should be very interesting. It has the possibility to be a sleep-walk game for the Rangers, except that Avery won't let that happen against his former (short-lived) team.

Rangers 3-2 Stars (Avery with a goal finally?)

I was lucky enough not to witness the double digit debacle.

This Dallas team is not to be taken lightly.

Saw that game. Once they got to 8, started rooting for Dallas to get 10 because I was so pissed off.

Skrats and Niskanen will not play tomorrow, likely will be Fistric back in and Larsen.

Rangers really will only gain from the loss of Skrats who's a solid shut down, but Fistric is real good too in that respect (we're not sure why Crawford and the staff keep scratching him).

Niskanen is horrible, Larsen is our top PMD prospect and defensively they're both a wash, but Larsen brings more offense than Nisky atm.

Was expecting Raycroft to get this start, but can never figure our Crawford's goalie schedule.

My most anticipated game of the season. Hope it goes to OT but I have to root for my #1.

Loved rewatching it on NHL.com, that waterbottle jumping up, YES!
This game is a good test to see where we are. A solid top 6 & suspect goalie n D vs. the NY Rangers. Stars kinda remind me of a low-grade Flyer team. Looking for the Rangers to EXPLODE, 5-2 Rags!!!!!

Stars are 11th in GAA, and Lehtonen has been amazing this season. We're not the Avs here or anything.
