Lehtonen is far from a suspect goalie. When he's on his game, he's nearly unbeatable.

Sorry, but he is a suspect starting goaltender. Career 2.84 in this era?! Yea, he is.

If the Rangers own the boards as much as they did vs. Hurricanes, they'll win big. Lehtonen ain't stopping this!

No, he's not. You realize what team he played for the majority of his career, correct? He was in Atlanta for 7 years. Every goalie on that team, other than Pavelec, has had bad stats because of how terrible of a defensive team they have been. And GAA is far from the best stat to use if you're just going by stats. He has a career .912 sv %, very respectable when you play for a team that's giving up 3 goals a game on average on a yearly basis.

really expecting big things from Avery in this game. I think we saw a preview against Carolina of what we're going to see tonight.

It's going to be huge.

LETS GO RANGERS

He's not even a top 20 goalie thought in my head, jussayin.

Just because it's not in your perception of the best doesn't mean its not so. How many Stars games have you watched this year out of curiosity?

There are 30 starting goaltenders. You don't have to be top-5 to be a good goalie. Lehtonen is a solid goaltender who has a ton of talent - he's just had injury troubles. But, again, not every good player has to be labeled as "a top # that". Theodore is a very solid goaltender, yet people probably wouldn't list him as a "top-30 goaltender".

I agree, but i think there are goalies in Lehtonen's category that will allow a deluge of goals (4+) in any given night. I think he is one of them. I think the Rangers will hit him up.

Was kind of hoping Dallas would call up Severin Blindenbacher in addition to Larsen, maybe have a Swiss vs. Swiss battle.

Either way, good luck tonight, should be a dandy.

The performances of Lundqvist, Zuccarello, and Dubinsky overshadowed what was an outstanding game for Avery. Hopefully his first game back in big D will help keep him going in the right direction. With the scoring depth we've gotten so far this year, if Avery can contribute as a playmaker and a guy who forechecks hard and makes things happen, we're going to be in a great shape.

Lehtonen has 0 shutouts this year. So he'll be beat at least once

Definitely wasn't during practice. They ran into each other during warm up before the 3rd period in Chicago...FAIL.

Skrastins takin one for the team though.

Anyways, good luck tonight. Go Stars, and Avery sucks.

I know, I was there the last time we played at the MSG.

The ass kicking we took the night before (4-0 in Jersey) made that night seems awesome in comparison.

What amazed me most is he put up that many points and sat in the box for half the game

I understand Larsen is a Danish kid, defenseman? Sounds more like a Scandinavian battle

Good luck, and be nice to Avery.
