To Pyatt's discredit, the Montreal Canadien's PK starts and ends with Price and the defense. Halak was amazing last year in the playoffs against the Caps and it was all on him and the GG duo that shut down the Caps.

The Habs would look far better with some Rupp's on the bottom 6. They have no size, no tenacity and other than Moen (the most useless in terms of ability vs. salary hit) no winning experience. Which is what really burns me about JM's marginalization of Lapierre, he had size, he hit the most out of the entire team AND he was a homeboy! Why play Darche/Halpern/Pyatt/Moen over him, ever?

I trust Gauthier to bring in some gritty players and make this team a tough one again. Trade for Chris Neil!
He's a guy I'd love to see on our bottom 6 actually.

I know folks are upset we aren't scoring more, but blaming a defensive specialist for that is silly.

Where's the blame for Halpern, who has slowed considerably offensively? Where is the criticism of Moen, who is overpaid 100%? Where is the frustration with Eller, who creates virtually nothing out there despite occasional nice dangles and a hit or two?

The truth is, if we want more offence, we need to look at our top 6 forwards, Subban
and Spacek to step it up. Hamrlik and Wisniewski are producing fine.
I think Halpern's slump is directly related to his current linemate Pyatt, put him back with Darche and Pouliot and I am sure Halpern will start producing again.

The third line center spot is for the Ellers/Desharnais of the team. You know, develloping a young offensive center. Unfortunately (for him) Halpern will have to stick to PK, 4th line duties with Pyatt and Moen.

Pyatt is the perfect defensive forward. The opponents don't score, as well as his own team.

Right because most 4th lines score so much. Don't we pay 6 or 7 guys to score?

I am pretty sure we pay all our players, not just 6 or 7

He couldn't get points playing with Gomez and Gionta so I don't think you can expect Halpern to help him offensively.

*Waits for someone to say Gomez makes $8 million he should be able to make guys with no offensive talent like Pyatt score.*

Do you think Pyatt deserve a place in the line-up ?

You know my position, NEVER ! He steal the place of a better player than him. 3 points after 1/2 season. He is minus 5. Can't hit. Can't score. Can't pass. Can't fight. Can't create plays. When I see his name in the line-up I am angree every time...
JM likes him cuz of hes PK....Personally i would of had Ryan White here since the start and pyatt would still be in the minors but heey we're not getting payed to manage the team we pay to watch that team

Pyatt had a real solid game tonight against the Pens. He may not be an offensive dynamo, but he does belong in the league. Games like tonight, tough games, playoff-like games, you see his value.
