mbeam - glad to hear you picked up a pair you like! Have you had them baked yet, or are you waiting to do that still - or do you plan on it at all?

Friends of mine recommended it for sure should I purchase my pair in that range. I am hoping that makes it fit much closer around my ankles for just that reason.

Cheers,
Kev

Yes, I bake every pair I get. Had them baked before I bought them. I hear it makes a difference but I've never played in unbaked skates so I couldn't say for sure. Even with the baking they definitely need some ice time to be broken in.

I've done baked vs non baked. It makes a difference on higher end skates since the material was so much stiffer. I went from bauer 16's to Bauer x:60's.
As far as higher end skates go. The higher end the stiffer and more durable the skate. If you are unhappy with your skating, switch brands. It will be like relearning how to skate and sometimes thats for the better.
