I went to the sens official website and I just noticed there is now a picture of Karlsson instead of Kovalev on the side of the page. The guy will soon be a fan favorite if it's not already the case.

Wouldn't be surprised if Kovalev gets traded at the deadline, could be a precursor.

Then again, it could also just be because Karlsson's been ridiculously awesome. I think the Enstrom comparison is really good, Karlsson's got a better shot and hands though IMO.

And is faster. I think it's funny when people tell me Karlsson would be lucky to be as good as Enstrom at his prime. Actually, Enstrom would be lucky to have Karlsson's hands, speed, skating ability, shot, passing creating the ability to put up 50 points as a 20 year old.

Having watched Green pretty much the last 2-3 years, I'd have to say that Karlsson already is the better offensive defenceman - and now that he's starting to pick up the defensive side of his game, along with putting on some muscles and getting experience...well...if Ottawa had a stronger team I could see Karlsson being a ppg player next season. A 30 minute per game ppg defenceman with above average defence. Haven't had one of those in the NHL for quite some time.

Then again, I might be totally wrong - and he'll end up a new Wade Redden

Lofty expectations but he does have a way of creating offensive chances every night...surround him with talent and I think people would be surprised of what he's capable of. Mike Green is overrraaaateed as a result of playing on a run and gun team and PP featuring Backstrom, Ovie, Semin...

I think he's got the most natural offensive talent of any blue liner in the league. Still just a raw 20 year old....there are players in this upcoming draft that are more "man" then he is right now.

When Karlsson puts on a little more weight, and matures a little bit, he'll probably be the best OFD in the game (at least in my opinion.) He just dazzles almost every night, and his defensive lapses are becoming more scarce (obviously still needs improvement.)

He's definitely the future of Ottawa.

I don't think Karlsson will put on that much weight, I say he maxes out at 185-190, but that's not to say he wont get stronger.

On another note, how perfect did he play that 2 on 1 against Tampa, my jaw dropped.

Took Clouston long enough to realize that his stick work is exceptional enough to play the PK. (2 on 1 was actually on the PP, but my point stands)

Not sure if it's strength or just positioning, but I find he's doing a much better job of playing forwards on the rush.

Either way, he's going to be a star for a long time and should probably just have a stickied appreciation thread.

I appreciate his entertainment value. Not since Martin Havlat have the Sens had a player who was so much fun to watch. I just hope he doesn't turn out to be the next Phil Housley (1232 career points from the blueline but still can't make the Hall of Fame due to his erratic defense).

Too bad the prospects aren't further along. Imagine all of Ottawas biggest prospects around 21-24 now instead and Karlsson could reach 80+ points per season.

Heck, with the right linemates I could even see him as a ppg+ player. He plays on a bottom-5 team in the NHL and still gets it done.

If he puts up over 80 points in a season people are going to get tired of my bragging....
