I actually liked Fro, even though he was a bust. Thought he would be big for us down the road, but we wont get to see now. Come on get healthy Cally/Prospal/Christensen

Ugh, that sucks. Feel really bad for him, yea he did not play good overall, but injured in the middle of his contract year after subpar half of the season...who's gonna sign him now and for what price?
With Frolov out, maybe Prospal out, who's gonna play LW?
Dubi, Drury, Avery?

Yep exactly, hate to see people get hurt but if there was one guy on the roster we could do without for 4 months it would be him. Especially since it looks like Zuccarello is up for good... he basically will step into the spot Frolov was penciled into when we signed him last summer.

Rather shocking news when I read the updated title to this thread...

I don't think the Rangers will miss him too much though, might actually benefit the team for the rest of the season.

However, he busted his knee pretty bad, you've gotta feel a little bad for the Alex Frolov, the guy, even if not for Alex Frolov, the hockey player. Hopefully his recovery goes well in the long term.

ahh geez...i know he struggled, but it sucks to hear him sustain such a bad injury. Good luck to you in your recovery, Fro.

Why is everyone &^itting the bed about Frolov attempting wraparounds? I for one love wraparound tries. Remember Gartner? Brilliant at the wraparound.

Its an effective tool one can use if the goalie is slow moving side to side, or "Stuck" on one side and the d gets in the way of the goalie and BAM! you have an empty netter. Or you try the wraparound and bank it off the goalie who is moving side to side, or it banks off the d that might be standing in the crease.

Just because Frolov wasnt lucky enough to bang a few home that way, doenst mean we should ban the wrap around goals. Remember a certain player in the 94 playoffs who had a FEW IMPORTANT goals via wraparound?

(and yes, I expect to see some knuckleheads saying homo's wraparound ALL THE TIME. Its called the Reacharound LOL)

Frolov also has a sprained MCL and a torn meniscus in his right knee. So the whole thing is pretty well busted

Ow.

Well, Frolov is not Gartner.

I think Frolov only scored once on the wraparounds out of about 100. That one time Frolov did score, Backstrom got a piece of the puck.

Forget Frolov, Avery is new mister wraparounds. EVERY GAME.

And Sam reacts like it's actually going to go in.

The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.

Frolov wasnt that great but I still feel bad for the guy. We're gonna miss him sometimes. He was fantastic at controlling the puck and keeping it in the Offensive zone, just couldn't finish.

That said, it solidifies Zuccarello's spot on this team even after Callahan gets back in the line up.

Very unfortunate for Frolov, the person and for his career after this season. Not the kind of season you want to go out on.

Has something changed in their training from last year that has caused all these injuries? Or just bad luck?

I think this increases the chances Sather goes out and gets someone before the deadline. Personally, I'd rather see a veteran in the lineup than another call-up. The vet presence can be really important come playoff time.

With Newbury and Weise as forwards now, Torts is never gonna play the 4th line again.

Tough year for Frolov. Sometimes things just don't work out for players on an individual basis.

He does play hard. I know some people are happy/relieved/ok about this injury but I'm sure not. He was a strong player on the puck and a good veteran presence. He had been playing much better of late, especially in the last 6-7 games.

Drury broke his finger in a freak thing, Callahan broken hand on a blocked shot, Frolov had someone literally fall on his knee driving it into the ground and twisting it.
