I like the Simmer but he isn't of any help to the Islanders or their future.

I wouldn't be surprised at all if he ends up playing for the other New York team.

Seriously... when an NHL vet is getting waived off of one of the worst teams in the league, you know your career is over.

Wasn't Sim waived earlier this year, assigned to the AHL, then called back up because he had 9 points in 8 games?

Also, Brandon Segal of Dallas is on waivers.

Given his salary I'd agree, but if he was making 1mil then I'd have to think that it was a money thing.

No thanks 1 goal and 3 assists.Rather go with another 1 of the kids--although Newbury isn't 1 of the young guns.

What's the record for the same guy being waived by one team, not this year but the past couple? He's gotta have it.

I watched the Islanders-Oilers game last week, and remember being very surprised he was even still playing.

He'd be a good depth signing with all the injuries the Rangers have sustained. He can always be moved down to Conn when other players return.

Since he already lives in NY, I bet he'd take a lower salary from the Rangers.

Don't you mean Rob Schremp? I sooo thought he was the real deal before he played for Edmonton.

He's been waived a few times already this season so there's not a chance he'll get picked up.

I think this move is done not to send him down but just so that he can be sent down if they want to or need to. If I'm not mistaken he can now be sent to Bridgeport within the next 30 days without passing through waivers.
