If he doesn't think Weise belongs than maybe he should tell sather to send him down and get someone who can be useful.

Cally is 2-3 weeks away
EC is at earliest 2 more likely 4 weeks away
No word on Boogard
No word on Prospal

Sjostrom was suggested in another thread, sure he wouldn't cost much and he has good speed and can kill a penalty, I am all for getting him back as long as the cost isn't much
Sjostrom i like but they dont need him

I know there are fighters and then there are playmakers and superstars. But one man's HEART is under fire right now. HOW as a grown assed man can you basically run away from a fight searching frantically for someone to save him infront of 30 thousand people.. Ok, Ok, it was at the Meadowlands so 4 thousand people witnessed it.

What a shame. I tell people at work all the time... you DONT have to be a prized fighter in this world, but when someone questions your heart, you put that man back down on his ass.
I don't know. Looking at the video, I think you're reading too much into it. All Elias did was skate into Newbury, not necessarily challenge him to fight. Odds are Elias had no idea who Newbury was and that he would take the first opportunity to prove his worth to the Rangers as a tough guy. Newbury dropped his gloves before Elias had a chance to think. It's more like Salvador was the one who went "holy crap, someones going at Elias, f that let me at 'em".

But don't let me be the one to try and show you what the world looks like without your homer glasses on.

Torts uses Weise around 7-9 minutes a game tops, I think Newbury could warrant around that amount as well, maybe Captain Crutch gets say 12-13 because of PK and defensive zone draws.

we have 6 games in 10 days starting Jan. 11th, this team has no extra forwards at the moment. You don't want to get worn down, Sjostrom provides another body who can kill penalties and will do anything to help them team. if he is available at a reasonable price acquiring him should be a no brainer

I like Newbury, but Johnstone had a couple of 30 goal seasons for the Rangers. A better comparison might be a George McPhee or Rob Dimaio.

Well, as long as Ron Petrovicky stays retired in Europe...

So what's the average age of active players? 23.5? At what point does body checking the Rangers count as child abuse?

Didn't he get the memo from Mike Richards? If you disrespect Elias as a young player you're going to get hunted down and killed. Geez, no respect...

EDIT: Just so its clear

I would be very satisfied to bring back Sjostrom for the right price... a 4th line player who can grind and kill penalties.. If Prospal and Cally make it back then he'd be fine to sit in the press box. He may even win a wing spot over EC when the time comes...

Close, but not quite accurate. This guy is to let Prust play, not to fight. Newbury is a Prust replacement for Boogard replacement. Avery will replace Frolov, while Newbury will take Avery 4th line time.

Im a big Sjostrom fan....good PK ...plays hard ...good speed..I was sorry to see him go. Would Kennedy have to clear waivers if we trade him to The Leafs?
