Never his biggest fan, and was totally against re-signing him. But he's a solid player and he played through a lot of injuries, not to mention dealing with more pressure than he ever should have because of this team's inability to construct a competent roster around him for the majority of his duration with the club.

I wish him well in Phoenix. He should be a good fit there.

I'm def in the minority but I loved Rozi for his time in NY. I liked his game esp while Jags was here. We may have overpaid him a bit but I still think he helped round out this defense. I wish him nothing but the best in PHX, and hell at least he'll be comfy as Coyotes seem to be becoming a team of ex Rangers lol

So many people claiming to be in the minority by liking Rosi, but I think we were really the majority. The minority opinion holders, however, were more vocal.

I have to say, I was actually a huge fan of his when he debuted with the Penguins. I always saw the potential in him, but unfortunately, I think he was his own worst enemy. Lack of confidence, I guess. He had a lot more talent than he showed.

That's frequently the case here.

Some love from Sather.

Sather on Rozsival

I was very happy with the way Rosy (Rozsival) played. Hes a good player, hes durable, he works hard, he played through a lot of pain in his career. We have nothing but good things to say about him. I thought he was treated unfairly every once in a while. He was a guy whos the ultimate professional (he) never complained. We liked him a lot. Hes a great person.

I really liked him, and he was the last remaining skater from that first post-lockout team, that brought back success. He always was very dependable logging heavy minutes although he might have declined in recent years. Still he seemed like a good teammate and I wish him good luck for the future! So long and thanks for all the fish!

*cough* Lundqvist *cough*

I will miss Rozi though, always found him underrated if a bit overpaid. I was baffled when I first found out that he was constantly booed at the Garden.

Good luck in Phoenix or should I say the Arizona Rangers?

early 07-08 especially comes to mind when he was scoring goals, joining the rush, etc., but by february he had cooled down and never really got it back.

Hence why I said skater

Yeah I never got why he was booed. Sure he had some inconsistent stretches, but he always seemed like a nice guy to me and he always was able to log heavy minutes. Considering Drury hasn't ever been booed I don't think Rozy ever deserved it. Unlike other (former and current) members of this team he was "only" overpaid by about a million dollars maybe.

Agreed. Rozy was an important part of our post lockout turn-around, and has been a steady D-man for years.

I liked Rozi the only problem I had was with his contract, which was no fault of his own. Although he was very inconsistent in parts of the last 3 seasons, I always felt he was giving it his all.

I will never forget that OT playoff goal he got at the garden. One of the most joyous feelings I have had being a fan under the Sather regime.

Thanks for your service, but time marches on

Hope nothing but the best for Rozi. Although some of us may not have appreciated him, he clearly appreciated NY.
Quote:
During his five full seasons with the Rangers, he blossomed as a puck-mover. He suffered a right knee injury before the lockout during the 2004-05 season and credits the Rangers for giving him the opportunity to rediscover his game.

"Rangers will always be in my heart, but now I'm with the Phoenix Coyotes and I'm really excited about it," Rozsival said.

I feel like we definitely won the trade, but it really does hurt to see Rozsival go.

All in all after everything is said and done is was a solid dman for us. He had his moments where you just wondered what he was thinking of when he mad that pass right to the other team. But he played hurt a lot of times and never complained. He was a good soldier and his time was up. Wish him well except against us.

I'll miss seeing rosy after losing te last skater to bring the playoffs back to the rangers. I really appreciate what he brought to the team. I understand why the rangers would trade him although I feel the off season would have been a better time. This trade leaves a huge gaping hole at the back end.

Best of luck to rosy in Phoenix
