I really wish Sid & Geno would be captains .... I'd love to see them go against each other.

There are restrictions on how the picks are made. Like you have to pick all positions by a certain round & stuff.

They also said they were gonna ask the top 6 who they thought should be captains

You know, I'd think about taking my GF to this and spend the weekend in Raleigh watching the AS game and the Skills/Rookie competitions, but the prices on stubhub are almost Winter Classic-ish. Worst seats would run 400+ per person for the weekend.

Every team needs @ least one player there, Elias has been the best Devil by far this season from what I've heard. Also, Derek Roy is injured for the rest of the season

I predict the last player picked for the game is going to be the games MVP.

I knew that I thought I had seen someone else from the devils on that list.

The isles don't have a rep (except for the rook skills)

If you want to better your chances of winning you pick M.Staal for your blue line to shut down opposing forwards since that's what got him to the all star game in the first place.

I dont know if I like this picking of players. Good thing Staal wont have to go up against any of his own teammates that he could accidentally collide with. He could be facing Henrik but the chances of him injuring Henrik are very low.

They have to take one player from every team. I guess Elias is more deserving than Kovalchuk. It could be worse, the Islanders are only represented by Grabner -- who's a rookie who won't even play in the game.

The stipulation was every team would be represented by a player in the game or a rookie. I'm surprised they didn't just select Tedenby.

I remember reading somewhere (unfortunately I don't remember where right now) that they were thinking about selecting the last few players in groups so that no one would be the "last pick". Don't take my word for it though because I'm not 100%.

Anyway, congrats to Staal, Hank and Stepan!! I don't really want Lundqvist and Staal to play the game but I'm pumped for the rookie skills competition.

Well deserved for Staal, Lundqvist, and Stepan.

Dubinsky should've also been there.

Now I actually have a reason to watch this event.

Lot of missing names; Datsyuk, Zetterberg, Pronger, Richards, St Louis, Lucic, Semin, that are all probably equally or more deserving than Dubi.

A lot of goalies are playing great hockey this year. Hank got in part on reputation and year to year consistency.

Really happy to see Staal getting some recognition. Hopefully, all 3 of Stepan, Hank and Staal come back injury free.
