I disagree with the Sturm part. I am the farthest thing from a fight fan and think players like Westgarth and Ivanans are a disgrace to the sport, but plays like that are why fighting has a place in hockey. It was not a staged show for the drunks in the cheapseats, it was a heat of the moment play of a guy coming to the aid of a teammate.
He brings up valid points otherwise. And while I agree TM has run his course and is not a good coach bringing in a new coach is not going to change the fact that the Kings have a pretty poor roster. TM has been pretty short changed with having no first line LW or second line C his entire tenure here.
He's 100% flat out wrong about Sturm. Sure, he sat 17 minutes and we could have used him. But his actions (coming to the defense of a teammate and solidifying team chemistry) could pay dividends in future games, even at the cost of a loss.
Plus, this loss can hardly be put down to the fact that Sturm was in the box. I saw PLENTY of opportunities to tie the game last night after he was shown the gate.
I hate to say it, but on the other topics (esp. regarding Murray's decisions), he's pretty spot-on.
