JANUARY SCHEDULE:

QUOTES TO NOTE:

Me and Gabs are definitely going to complement each other well. It's just a matter of time and getting used to each other.
Overall, I thought it was a pretty good effort. I was disappointed we didn’t get the 2 points.
- Wojtek Wolski

I felt like it wasn’t our night tonight. They’re a good team with really good speed.
It’s very disappointing we came up short at home.
- Henrik Lundqvist

I don’t think we were great, I don’t think we were bad. It comes down to a third period.
We couldn’t score. They did.
- John Tortorella

Oh boy, this one should be fun.

Nucks 18-1-2 or something like that lately. This has disaster potentially written all over it.

I hate the Canucks. When's the last time we beat them, 1994? The last few games we've played against them have been disastrous. Beat these guys already!

Can we please NOT make Schneider look like Hasek?

Schneider has been playing exceptionally this season. Just look at his record. He won 2 games in 2 nights a week or two ago as well.

So he'll probably be like a Roy/Hasek hybrid.

You got that right.

Last time we won against the Nucks was back in 2004... I'm not liking our chances. Again, we should've won last night.

Wow, no Luongo? I'm assuming the Nucks play Friday night if Lou isn't playing.

I'm assuming the rest of the league has realized we make their scrubby back up goalies look like all stars and using games against us not only to rest their starters but to get a win as well.

What's our records against back ups this season...1-143-0?

Going with my heart on this one. The boys come out fired up and MZA, Dubinsky, W2 and Gaborik all have goals.

Yes, he's played very well. This isn't just another "make the back-up look like Roy" goalie.

This will be a huge win if they can beat this team, their first line and Kessler are playing unreal hockey.

I don't expect a win here, so whatever, just show up.

lgr.

Per Gross:

Speaking of Stepan, Tortorella acknowledged today it’s “not ideal” to have Stepan on the power play point and will now begin to use him down low as a forward again
______________

About time. He's not ready for that yet.

Also: Step and AA will switch places in the lineup. All other lines will remain the same.

Going out on a limb, from what we've seen of the rangers, I say the rangers win this one.

4-2 Rangers

Thank God. Girardi and Staal should be on the first unit imo.

I think the Rangers surprise us in this one. Get us all back to thinking we're cup contenders and get another win streak started...

We'll get at least a point here. We haven't lost 2 games in a row in regulation in nearly 2 months.

Gotta think that Wolski gets the start for sure over Newbury. I know it was a question in the last game right up until gametime, but I'd say Wolski played more than well enough to remain a top 6 player on this team for at least another game.

It'll be a tough tough game, lets see how the core shows up, and how well the D can contain the Sedins. Definitely a premier matchup for Staal-Girardi against those two.

Can't wait for gametime already! LGR!!!
