HENRIK!

Outstanding performance tonight. Wolski looked good. Gaborik looked good. Boyle was a beast defensively (his whole line was). You can't find a complaint from the performance of anyone in the line up.

I know people haven't been a fan of Gaborik lately because he has been snake bitten offensively, but honestly, he's been playing some good hockey lately.

MVPs for this game; Lundqvist, Boyle, Wolski and Staal.

Solid game boys, congrats. I just am wondering why Tortorella is playing just a defensive system as compared to his days in Tampa?

I deserve to eat crow for what I said earlier in this thread. This game was definitely one of the best of the season. They blocked tons of shots, kept the forecheck going and held a one goal lead against the hottest team in the league.

Gaborik looked much better and Hank was great as always. Great all-around win for the team, hopefully this momentum carries forward for the Habs and Flyers.

He's not. The team is snake bitten offensively. They have to win a lot of 2-1 games as of late.

Look through the first 30-35 games of the season and we've been an aggressive forecheck / take chances kind of team.

this is the type of win that really shows the promise of this team, to grind it out against the best team in the league and give them very little in terms of scoring chances. That's the type of hockey that wins in the playoffs.

I have to give credit to Schneider though, he must be one of the best back-ups around, he looked so composed out there. This game could of easily been 3-0 or 4-0 if it weren't for him.

I also liked Wolski a lot more this game, he looked a lot more involved in the offensive end and was moving his feet more.

Well the talent is there to let them free wheel especially now with Wolski. I look the looks of the Rangers overall though - my darkhorse to meet us in the final.

Ha ha I wish. Wolski has looked good. I'm glad we won tonight but I don't like our chances with the Canucks in a 7-game set! Vancouver is one heck of a team. If either Vancouver or Detroit doesn't make the SCF from the West I'd be shocked. Personally I don't believe in the whole "Vancouver chokes / Luongo is a hack in the playoffs" talk. They're the real deal and I think they are going to prove a lot of critics wrong this year.

I agree, but if you read the Canucks board, you would think it was the Devils playing the Devils, circa 1995.
To be fair, they probably thought they would get 2 points without much trouble
