I voted for Marc Staal, because anyone who takes a cheap shot to the onions and does not go berserk and take a penalty in a 1-0 game is the MVP.

Giannone asking Staal if he felt the spear right away is absolutely priceless. I'd expect that kind of **** from Stan Fischler, simply wow... wow.

He didn't go berserk, but did take a penalty.

Staal slashed him and took a tripping call immediately after..

I voted Boyle but the whole team played w/ great passion. Boyle, Hank, Gilroy, McDonagh & on & on. My favourite game in a long while. Crazy atmosphere.

I hate em' but man...Vancouver has some really, really good players.

Hahah, I love it.

So far, I've heard two possible explanations for this: the first was that they put that chick wearing the Team USA jersey up on the Jumbotron (she was sitting behind the goal), and the second was there was a fight involving a Canucks fan.

Loved the Torts press conference. Said he would have tried to break Burrows ankles.

Torts in the post game..

"I'd try to break his ankles. It's ridiculous."

To Staal retaliating on Burrows.

"If i'm Marc Staal, I'd retaliate too. I'd try to break his ankles."

Coach sticking up for his players, I love that type of thing.

Holy **** did anyone hear Tort's post game interview? He said something like, "I would have done the same thing if I was Staal. I would have tried to break his ankle."

edit - I guess everyone knows...

Boyle was ridiculous tonight. All over the ice, constantly involved in the play.

That being said, that was impeccable goaltending by Henrik. He's the #1 reason the Rangers come out as winners tonight. I'm giving it to Lundqvist.

EDIT: Great post-game by Torts.

Honorable mention tonight to Eminger. Dude has put it in beast mode the past two games. he's been absolutely nasty.

Gotta love Torts. He'll get fined for those words, but Burrows better eat a 3 game suspension sandwich.

Player of the game: Lundqvist. Like somebody else said, Boyle was going for the title, what a gutsy game.

Bad: Hit posts instead of twine

Redden: Boogaard. He was invisible out there. (it's a joke)

Good: Hank, Boyle
Bad: refs
Redden: Burrows ... enough said

Hank was absolutely fantastic. Boyle (well his line) was fantastic hounding the Sedin line. Wolski had a good game. Gaborik played well. Our D was very good entire game, especially Staal.

I've been surprised with Eminger's play since Rozy's departure. What a hell? Is that the same guy out there. With him, Sauer, Staal and Girardi we have a pretty good and somewhat underated top-4.

happy for w2. nothing like a scorer getting off to a good start in a new home by scoring a goal.
