I'd settle for 90% of the old Markov for 2011-2012.

I don't doubt him one bit...count me as one of the few who thinks this team still needs Markov and absolutely want him back with the Habs next year

the chance that he gets injured again is too high. And he will be 33 next year in dec. Sure me too i want Markov...but is he usefull to us now?? no.

Yeah, probably the only true ELITE talent our team had in years... we obviously don't need him now.

He's working on a new contract. What's he gonna say......."me Markov be back but not as good as before - smaller contract please".

Honestly I'll believe it when I see it but he's made of glass lately. What's worse - all teams now know it.

33!?!?! Your right, hes totally useless now. He's a hell of a lot more useful than anyone playing defense right now, and I include Subban in that.

hum yes

lol

nah you're right we don't need him he's a injury prone and Gauthier will find a guy of the UFA market better for less money. Our D is doing fine right now it's mid-season and Hammer and Spcek don't look exausted at all. The way we are good with young players Subban or Weber will win the norris next year!

you dint understand my point.... I meant the reason his not useful to us now its because his injured and theres a great chance next year if we sign him again it will be the same story with him.

Sign Markov yes, but for 2 years and not more. Let him first prove to the Habs his knee is not a liabililty still.

It's a chance you take. You don't give him a lifetime contract but 2-3 years, even 4(at less money for his financial security) you do. Honestly, if he gets injured, it comes off the cap, and as a fan, it doesn't even change anything about our team except his paycheck gets covered by what, insurance or the team pays it anyway?

But theres a problem too, will he want to sign for less?? If in his mind its clear that he will become "better" then I think that means he necessarily wants more...

Meh, one of the rare talented players drafted by the organization who stuck around when free agency came a knockin'.

Our best player over the past decade or so and I don't wanna see him go, I hope he retires here.

And I don't think he wants more, he could've gotten 1M more on his last contract with many other teams but chose to sign here.
