I'm completely 110% confused here...

This is the year 2011. How the heck is there still not a thread on the main messageboard about ANYTHING that occurred in that game last night and yet we have a player suspended for two games. Don't even see ANYTHING on the Florida board yet either.

I can't believe this...

The NHL needs to get there S**t straight.... There have been numerous plays from other players that were actually noticeable and worth a suspension but no suspensions... Then SOB is suspended for???? a tiny slash?? Either way its messed up. Im not so mad that SOB is suspended just at the concept of it. How the NHL handled it. And how other players (burrows) dont get any kind of hearing

In one of the scrums around our net, O'B yanked his stick up (kinda looked like it was stuck/someone was holding it) and it hit a panthers player in the forehead, I think. He immediately put his hands up, the typical "I didn't do anything" look. Don't think it was intentional buuuuut,
It happened to the left of the goal as you are facing Pekka and after the whistle. I think that might be the incident.

I can't remember if it was near the end of the first or second. DVR people???

Still, Burrows spears a guy in the junk and the penalty gets thrown on Staal, with the ref apparently telling him to stop 'embellishing'. Just goes to show just how terrible the NHL is with discipline.

I think that Sulzer will be stepping in. He hasn't played in quite a while and could use the ice time. I can't believe he doesn't get played more. I know Nashville is deep on defense, but he'd be a bottom pairing defenseman on most NHL teams.

Ya that stick slash was on Weiss face. I remember it...think it was at the end of the 1st period in a scrum in front of Preds net...Weiss was gushing a bit no penalty on the play. The next period the refs made a call on SOB. right away which I believe was that slash on Frolik mentioned above.

Two game suspension?? Hmmm....

Actually, I'm not sure how the officials missed it during the game (end of period laziness on their behalf??), but whatever. It was a pretty good cut on the bridge of the nose and below his eye---FLA feed showed it clear as day.

Suspension by the NHL? Why even try to figure it out?

Quick quiz: Name the player(s) from opposing teams to receive supplemental discipline for an infraction against a Pred.

OK, I think we've all remembered Weiss going down at the end of the period there right at the referee's feet. My question to you is, did the incident rise above a missed 4-minute high sticking call to the level of a major penalty or much less a match penalty?

Anyone seriously questioning where the suspension was on the Thrasher that split Weber's lip literally in two down in Atlanta a few weeks ago? I'm throwing on the tin foil hat here...this is 100% ********!

I have to guess this is for O'Brien cutting Weiss with his stick. OB was likely trying to push Weiss away from Rinne with his stick as he was too far away but caught him on the nose. I wanted a 4-minute powerplay out of that since you're supposed to be responsible for your stick...but a 2 game suspension doesn't make sense, let alone why on earth it's 2 and not 1...wha?

I would say a four minute penalty TOPS, but I don't know all the stick sub-rules in the NHL book (ie. intent to injure, past rulings on similar plays etc...). It was not talked in length on the Panthers feed, but it was shown clear as day. It looked like a jabbing motion, like someone would do with a knife.

you know when HF posters from opposing teams agree it should have been a penalty, at most a 4 min double minor or 5 min major, the nhl ****ed this up. the sun rose in the east too, what else is new?

Of course it's unwarranted and total horse####. It's the NHL, and we're just Nashville. Maybe there had been too many loose sticks or deliberate slashes around the league so they had to find one to penalize that didn't affect a team with a larger fanbase or large media market. SOB was it.

Reminds me of NCAA basketball and the line - “the NCAA was so mad at Kentucky, it gave Cleveland State two more years of probation.”

But, be in control of your stick SOB.

Just more fallout from that mentally unfocused and lazy game so many of the guys played last night. Bummer. Hope Sulzer is REALLY ready to go. We can't start dropping games.

Remember the Vancouver game against us when Dumont, Nichol, and some one else on our team all got nailed by questionable hits....Dumonts was blatent by Burrows. He left his feet and hit him in the head and Nichol was out for a pretty long time. The NHL needs to get there F'ing s**t straight. Pardon my french im just very very mad, but its just amazing how terrible of a job they are doing
