I stepped away for a while - so did Samson get 2G, 1A and then a game misconduct? Is that a version of the Gordie Howe hat trick?

He got the misconduct, but he certainly doesn't have two goals. Goals are from Dalpe, McNicholl (2), Bellemore, and Matsumoto. Samson had at least one assist, and had a pass to McNicholl that SHOULD have been an assist to give McNicholl the hat trick.

One of those assists was on a pretty little toe drag.

I really enjoyed having the game on TV. Will watch again.

As would I, but I'd LOVE a legitimate TV crew and not just the jumbotron with announcers. Perhaps give some kids in media from UNC-Charlotte or something the chance to put on the show? Anything would be better than the jumbotron...

In a weird campy way, I liked the Jumbotron...

If they showed the Jumbotron and just let the crowd noise suffice for audio, I'd be in hog heaven.

Moeller overskated the puck at center ice on the shootout...hee hee.

Shootout results:
Dalpe miss
Bowman score
Matsumoto score
Terry score

Murphy allows not a single goal in the shootout.

Attendance tonight was 10,221.

Like I've said earlier, this is all kinds of good for Hockey in NC.

Cedric McNichol scored his first two goals of the year, almost had a hat-trick.

I went on the Checkers website to look up player stats and something caught my attention on the front page....

The Checkers are holding a "Redneck Night"?? Thats....awkward.

They do promotions like that and/or give something away with their logo on it. They're giving away trucker hats Friday night. I guess as long as it helps to draw in more fans then I'm ok with it.

3-1 win tonight against Springfield.

http://www.cnn.com/video/data/2.0/vi...erfan.hln.html I see it's been mentioned but here's a vid clip.

Sutter is doing pretty well lately. 5 goals and 3 assists in the last 7 games.

Just looked up AHL attendance...Charlotte sits #8 averaging 5700 fans per game. Only AHL teams that are better are Hershey, Manitoba, Chicago, Providence, Grand Rapids, Houston and Wilkes-Barre/Scranton.

Nice PP goal Dalpe. Great shot

Who was the screen out in front. I know Boychuk was to the side, waiting for any possible rebound, but #18 was a big screen for that goal.

Another PP goal. Another goal through a screen. Boychuk with Osala as a screen.

Why do people want Murphy up here over Peters again? Murphy flops around more than Peters, and with this team's troubles clearing rebounds, he'd be destroyed.

We need a backup that's more like Cam. Positionally sound and an expert at swallowing pucks.

And the Checkers miss an open net 4 times, then get scored on immediately after. Yeah, this is Carolina's minor league team.
