Leino would be Strider Aragorn. Legolas is way to fraile looking and pasty!

The new Atlanta assistant coach, Mike Stothers, was a Flyers #1 draft pick in the 80s.

In his NHL debut, he took a slapshot near the eye and nose. The immediate thought by some was that his career was over. Doctors said 1/2 closer to the eye and that would have been it.

That takes care of MSE's obscure reference for his hat trick. What were the other requirements?

I didn't realize Stothers was down there. My turn for references -- he was also Ruzicka's OHL coach.

“I went down and just tried to shoot it as hard as I could. The puck went right where I wanted it to," Jody Shelley on his goal at Atlanta.

I have a hard time deciding which of Shelley's goals are less believable. The perfect shot from tonight, or the dangler he had against the Wild.
