Unrelated: Good game on the CBS college sports network between Air Force and Army. And I'm not sure, but it sounds like it might be Alan Roach doing the arena broadcast.
Only difference between Koci and Parker was if somebody did something Koci would skate away after they declined him, Parker would kick their ass anyways.

Many differences between them really... Parker brought a lot of energy, even though he couldn't score, he was actually a pretty decent grinder. Also liked how he would always be the last guy to leave the ice at the intermission, skating around and giving his opponents, and their fans, the stink-eye. Parker could send a message without even having to fight.

He's going to be traded for a PMD.

Played a good first period, 3 goals and dominated. Mild actually got annoyed by that and started playing in the 2nd and 3rd as the Avs sat on the lead and stopped generating offense. Avs played a fairly good defensive game honestly, and Anderson had a good game. McLeod and Stewart are both back, Stewart has to work on getting his hands back but McLeod definitely was a difference maker in the lineup. Koivu with a sick move behind the net and a tape to tape pass to Brunette right out front for the Mild's only goal. Wilson bounced a clearing attempt off the boards and it went into the empty net for the 4-1 final.

Rhino tripped and went into the boards hard, head first and was down on the ice for about ten minutes before being taken off on a stretcher, went to the hospital, update is that he was alert and able to move and will be flying back with the team, so it sounds like he'll be okay. Avs lost all their momentum at this point and that's when Minnesota woke up and started playing... sort of.

Added - special teams were good, with a goal and perfect penalty killing, but they also got another bench minor for too many men... that needs to stop.

They just mentioned that Duchene said RoR is going to be on the flight back to Colorado with the team on On The Fly, so that has to be some good news.

Sacco said in the postgame presser (Dater put video of it on his blog) that Gally hasn't been using his speed and wasn't getting under the opposition's skin enough. I suppose since O'Reilly might be missing some time we'll see him playing 3rd line center.

I just looked up the number of bench minors. We are not leading the league

I bet they're leading it in say... the past 30 days. Who is leading it though, and where do the Avs sit?

But Hunwick is just "trying to do too much out there", Sacco?

Really nice game, Stewie and Mcleod really brings some hitting and physic to our game, and also i think that it's mentally big thing that they are both back

Given the recent pitch between these two teams it is no wonder that Sacco would ice a tougher lineup. I am not a big fan of Galiardi in the press box but have observed a decline in his game for sure. The situation with Hunwick must raise questions internally though. Hunwick has played like garbage and gets more ice time (although I have noticed a slight improvement in his game) to work things out while Gali gets a seat on the bench even though his play has been at worst mediocre. That is definitely a double standard.

Didn't we have a good record with Koci in the lineup last year as well??

Strange as it sounds, Sacco might be on to something with playing Koci.

We also had a good record when Sheriff was in the line up as well.

Lest we forget, matt hunwick is now -9 in only 22 games with the avs. In the same spirit as cheering for a guy to jump off a building, I kind of hope to see his suckitude reach -20 with the Avs.

Something tells me few Avs players are going to be dealt at the trade deadline.

Maybe Hunwick, Yip, Galiardi package or something.

I gotta question this team if they get rid of Gally. This guy hit a bit of a wall after coming back from injury but he brings so much to this team.

The Avs would be foolish not to move some combo of their extra players for some picks, even if they were late rounders, around the deadline....

Yip, Porter, Cumiskey, Holos, and Hunwick could all be sold to anyone with some interest in a depth player for cheap....and with a lower trade chance, potentially higher return Wilson, Jones, Galiardi, and possibly Liles. (and they would move Quincey and/or Mueller for a bag of pucks probably if anyone would take the salary, which they won't)
