LGR!

Let's beat these guys and help separate ourselves more from the last few playoff spots.

Thats what I'm thinking too. He tried to fight Elias for nothing and ended up manhandling whoever it was that stepped up.

I hope that their desire to stay out of the box doesn't trump their desire to play tough and rough it up a bit. MTL is a small team comparatively. If they want to get in their heads and take the crowd out of it they need to go out there and drop them with Subban or whatever noteworthy player they can goad into it the first chance they get. I like Newbury's chances with literally anyone on MTL.

If they can make them play NYR style hockey for most of the game they will win. MTL isn't built to play that way at all.

Also, lets hope Gaborik breaks out tonight. He's been more engaged recently. One of these nights he's going to go insane and rack up the points. Lets hope thats tonight.

I feel there will be two outcomes here. Montreal wins it in a SO or Rangers win 5-1 with Gaborik racking up 3-5 points.

Lets have rangers win! LGR!

Congrats Loffen.

Hopefully now the Rangers get a big 2 points today, Pitts beat Bos, so lets not let Pitt start to pull too far away.

Would love for them to not blackout out the NHLNET HD broadcast, but they will. Either way, after watching who the Jets will play next Sunday win, I'll tune into this one.

Wallpaper Tacks
  • Lundqvist vs. Price in net. Not necessarily Biron tomorrow.
  • Newbury in, Weise out.
  • Newbury is 4C. Drury slides to 4RW with Avery.
  • Torts on Newbury: "He's done some things faceoff-wise, scored some points in the American League, we want a look."
  • Callahan and Prospal on ice with coaches after practice.
  • Callahan projected to be back after All-Star break, February 1st return is realistic.
  • Staal on Burrows's spear: "I'm not going to forget about it. If he was in the All-Star game I might've tried something."
  • Dubinsky on Subban's slewfoot: "Hopefully he does it again, gets a penalty and we score. But we're not focused on one guy."
  • Boyle upset over Subban catching him with his butt-end. Nose appears broken.
  • Boyle on Subban: "It was kind of behind the play and not a lot of people saw it. Itís broken, I think. It dazed me, and I wasnít very happy about that at all. The slew-foot has the potential to be really dangerous. I understand guys want to play hard, but youíve got to have some respect. Iím 6-7, and I get hit in the face with a stick. I wasnít happy about that. Itís part of the game that you want to play hard and match that intensity, but thereís also respect youíve got to have where you canít do things like that. If the slew-foot was intentional, thatís garbage. If Dubi hits the back of his head on the ice, he could be out for a while. Thatís not right. You shouldnít play that way.Ē
  • Boyle on revenge: "It's not like we put it on the board as our No. 1 priority"
  • McDonagh on "returning" to Montreal: "No big deal. I never signed here."
  • Torts on McDonagh: "McDonagh deserves to stay right now. He's getting better and better each game."
  • Lines: Dubi-AA-MZA, W2-Step-Gabby, Feds-Boyle-Prust, Avery-Newbury-Drury
  • D-pairings: Staal-Girardi, Eminger-Sauer, McDonagh-Gilroy
  • Subban on his questionable play and emergence as an agitator: "I'm not Sean Avery. Iím not. I donít think Iím an agitator at all. I play honestly and I donít cheap shot. To be honest, if I wanted to be an agitator, I would play the game that way. Iím a young guy standing up for myself and my teammates. I just play the game the way I know how.Ē
  • Auld on Rangers non-interest in resigning him: "I was surprised."
  • Cammalleri in. Pacioretty a game-time decision.

when ever we play an original 6 team, before heading to a commercial msg plays a highlight of a game with the opponent from the past. and its always of a ranger getting the **** kicked out of him or the rangers giving up a huge goal. am i the only one that notices it, and am i the only one annoyed with that ****? i dont want to see a ranger getting slashed in the face with a stick. msg producers are terrible

I think they are just trying to show the big rivalries between the 2 teams. They obviously aren't trying to salt the rangers game.

its just annoys me so much. you have all the highlights in the world to show but they show a clip of a stick battle and a ranger taking one to the face. another clip i saw a ranger on his back and a bruin i think just beating his face.

They should just start each intro with Orr KO'ing Fedoruk..idc if it has no relation to the game.

I could see Henrik tonight and Biron tomorrow.
Biron's career stats vs. Phily are decent:

9-6-2 2.12 GAA and a .932 SV %

Although it is a big divisional game so I could see Hank wanting to play.
