Alright boys, 3-1. Protect the lead.

3-2... PROTECT THE LEAD

3-3 Same game plan.

3-4, protect the game plan
3-5 Protect the lead, it's almost done.
3-6 - Continue!

Coach... we lost...

I SAID PROTECT THE LEAD

Someday they'll change the whole "side back in the 3rd and hope.

I think we all had the same feeling. The game should have been over in the 2nd period but the habs simply couldn't get that 4th goal to put it away.

You just knew that if the rags got the next goal, it would be a mad scramble to hang on to the two points, and that's exactly what it was.

Anyways, the team dominated for about 45 minutes and were full value for the 2 points.

Kinda odd that Weber and Spacek played about 12 minutes each given the Habs are headed for a busy stretch. Don't like to see the minutes pile up on Hamrlik and Gill but I guess that's what it will have to be. Surprised at those minutes though for a coach who likes to spread the minutes out evenly.

I dont really care about the Sabres (they are done without Roy), neither about the Leafs.. I think we will fight with the Rags, Trashers and the Canes for a playoffs spot.. The Canes won so its not a perfect night.

It'd be cool if once in a while they could get THAT goal that puts the game away, or even an empty net goal. They almost blew it, which would have been a shame because their game was pretty much flawless for 2 periods.

Anyway, we win a crucial game.

Commodore just went on re-entry waivers. That could be worth a look.

it was our 3rd in 4 nights, so its possible that Spacek was really out of gas.

Subdued because he knew he almost blew it with his lackadaisical play on the second goal. He made some great saves tonight but he is not the same Price from the beginning of the season. He has been lazy and careless lately. One of these games he is going to score on himself when he whips the puck around the net.

Its a tough game to pick out the 3 best.

I thought subban was the habs player that stood out... then you can pick the others out of a large lot

So I was browsing the Bruins out of town thread because I love reading their same lame old excuses when the Habs win and their team loses.. Anyway why do some of these guys always keep insisting that the Habs always get special treatment from the refs?

Both the Habs and Bruins PP chances are practically the same.. Habs 155 PP's in 45 games .. Bruins 154 PP's in 44 games.. Although the Habs have been on the PK 183 times in 45 games vs the Bruins 139 times in 44 games.. It's either the Bruins are very discipline or the refs let them off with a lot of stuff..

I know this as nothing to do with this game but these Bruins fans will soon have to start coming up with new excuses for the Habs winning games..

When I was watching the game, being a former goalie myself, I was shocked to see that Lundqvist wasn't kicked out of the game after throwing a punch with his blocker. I was convinced that there was a rule against it as you can really injure a guy with that thing.

So after the game, I decided to do some research to make sure that I wasn't as crazy as I look... Straight from the NHL rule book:

51.3 Match Penalty - If, in the judgment of the Referee, a goalkeeper uses his blocking glove to punch an opponent in the head or face in an attempt to or to deliberately injure an opponent, a match penalty must be assessed.
