Gaborik is paid like an elite player because he was an elite player at some point in his career. That means he doesn't get a pass when the best thing you can say about him was "he wasn't our worst player".

nobody ever said he gets a pass, i just dont get singling him out. it would be one thing if we lost the game 3-2 where we played a good game and he played the way he did...then i could understand calling him out, but EVERYONE was awful last night...EVERYONE (outside of Henrik of course)
As much as I love the make up of this team and their resilient ability to mount these third period come backs... if they continue to do not show up for the first two periods the losses will mount up as quickly as the wins did.

It's pretty ridiculous, even worse though is that you can get suspended for 6 games for saying sloppy seconds, but a coach drops 300 f bombs during a televised intermission and not only does the league not say anything but the so called commissioner says he is fine with it. In fact he even said: “No one in this room is prudish enough to think that locker room language isn’t coarse.”

The trash talking on the ice from opposing players saying things like "Hey, nice salary bro!" when he messes up or gets into a scrum must be pretty brutal. Hopefully it gets so bad that he decides to retire / goto Europe and we aren't in summer cap hell for the next 4 years.
