I can't see Dallas moving Benn who is showing signs of being a legitimate star for for years to come. For **** and giggles what could Benn bring in return?
That makes alot of sense. Stars are working on a budget and are willing to move a EL contract? I seriously doubt that! If they are going to move someone, it would most likely be Ribeiro and move Benn to center and free up money to resign Richards...
He's not going to La for anything less than johnson imo. There obviously looking for at the very least a 1b pmd for him because that's their biggest need.

I couldn't see that being an even swap.
It would have to Benn+ for Johnson, especially with his new contract in place.
the only even slight chance Benn would get moved is if a young #1 or potential #1 defenseman is coming back(Karlsson, Carlson, guys like that). Not saying anyone would make that kind of a deal, but thats the only way Benn should be moved.
Pens would probably offer Goligoski as a centerpiece but I'd be weary of subtracting from the defense. We have no PP QB without him as well. I'd bet Dallas hangs onto him.
I don't take www.thefourthperiod.com seriously, so I'll have to go read the Edmonton Journal article they're supposedly referencing here though. For the Stars to even think about moving Jamie Benn, it would take a severe overpayment from another team and the return would definitely have to be a high-end defenceman of about the same age.

Errr, given how Karlsson has 8 g/26pts and Benn has 12/29 pts so far; I don't think there's any chance in hell Ottawa would move Karlsson for Benn.
