That probably is the most likely trade proposal. It also makes sense for both sides, atlanta might have too add a 1st/2nd because bogosian's value isn't at it's highest currently.

Probably not. But there's really no other reason for the Stars to move Benn unless they are getting that kind of a return. It doesnt really help them enough to justify moving him.

I really like Benn and he has high value but there's no way Atlanta needs to add anything to Bogosian.

That kind of return is ridiculous though; Karlsson is already a #1 D on the Senators (in their worst offensive season in history), while Benn is a very good top 6 winger with upside.

Not saying I don't think Benn has value, he absolutely does, but I think it would be for a young defenseman like Subban who has shown flashes of brilliance but not put it all together yet.

What does Dallas want? D? What about something around Bogosian and a 1st?

Bogosian, Sopel, and a 1st.

Feel free to swap Sopel for a prospect or something, but I figure guys who can block shots and PK are handy in the playoffs.

Why would we want to move him before he's had a chance to establish himself in the league? We already made similar mistakes with Jokinen and Miettinen, who've moved on to pretty decent careers in Carolina and Minnesota. Joe would be a fool to use Benn as "bait" for a d-man.

Stupid rumor!

I'd be shocked if Benn was traded.

Would give my left nut for Benn or Neal.

Philips + Michalek for Benn.

I don't get how an Atlanta fan would offer Bogosian + a 1st for Benn. I really don't. I mean, I could see Bogosian for Benn if both teams thought it was worthwhile to do, but if Atlanta had to add to that I feel like they would just say, we'll keep Bogosian thanks.

The first is a little strong. I was thinking more along 3rd/mid prospect. The reason for the add is because of Zach's rocky start. He's only 20 and I believe he'll be great in a couple, but he hasn't been the same since a wrist injury after the first third of last season.

Maybe, but by the same token, Benn's on pace for 23 goals and maybe 55 points. That's not exactly 1st line.

Nice! A defensive d-man (as if we didn't have enough of them already) on the wrong side of the 30's and an oft-injured and under-achieving, LEFT WINGER (as if we didn't have enough of them already) for one of our brightest prospects.

Excellent!

He also gets shuffled between the 2nd and 3rd line all the time. And Benn's game is more than just points. He's physical, he's great with takeaways, and can really keep the puck on his stick. His style reminds me of Pavel Datsyuk. Will he ever become that good? Who knows. But thats kind of what he looks like out on the ice.

I would sort of agree. However if they would be getting an extended Kaberle to a friendly contract, I would say Benn is available. Dallas is very good at developing wingers so they could see him as expendable.

Or maybe a trade involving something along the lines of Goligoski for Benn. Both team needs are met. Dallas gets a relatively cheap PMD and Pittsburgh gets a cap friendly winger for Crosby/Malkin.

Oh hey we're approaching the zone where I would start considering things if I were a GM.

These 2 statements appear to conflict with each other.

What about for Seabrook, or a Nashville Defenseman, (Franson, Suter?)

Dallas needs a top pairing guy, and Benn could get it for them

I like what I see of Rundblad and Smith, although I'd deal Benn for an established player (and a prospect).

Strong two-way top pair D-man. That is all.
