I'm reading a lot about how Giguere has not played well this season.
Giguere has played in 18 games this year.
First 9 games: 4-3-2, 2.31 GAA, .910%
Last 9 games: 4-4-1, 3.10 GAA, .891%
In his last 4 games: 2-1-1,. 1.88 GAA, .933%.
In his total of 33GP with the Leafs: 14-14-5, 2.59 GAA, .907 %
He has been battling injury recently, but his season was actually off to a great start.
Overall, he has a winning record (8-7-3) and a 2.69 GAA this season on one of the league's worst teams.
If you look at the stats, combined with the fact that the man has been to the Cup Final twice and has a ring to show for it, and that his contract comes off the books at the end of season...You may be surprised of the demand for Giguere. All it takes is two teams that both decide they really want him in order to fetch a high price.
Dwayne Roloson fetched a 22 year old 2006 first round pick. Roloson has comparable numbers, a losing record, is 41 years old, and has played 22 less playoff games than Giguere.
The only key in all this is Giguere's willingness to waive.
Difference being Roloson has an overall save percentage of 0.913 this season without cherrypicking stats nor without a player like Kaberle in front of him. Much lower cap hit as well.

Giggie should almost stick it out in toronto,i think which ever young goalie they want to keep on the Leafs should have a mentor like partner.
But if so trade him to phillie because the leafs would love Carcillo,and Zhredev would be a good fit on that team. Other than that Maybe the Avs would want him if Anderson keeps getting hurt. Every other team that needs a real goalie isnt in the play-off hunt.

Flyers have 1,952,406 in max aquisition space. plus a demotion(walker 1.7 mil) and perhaps a trade for a pick(carbomb 1.075 mil) and thats 4,727,406 mil in cap space
