If any team makes a run at moulson it will be Pittsburgh. Not only is he cheap but he can score 25-30 goals. With a talented center he could put up 35 probably. Not to mention since his contract is up come june you can probably get him for a mix of picks and prospects. Plus the last deadline deal pitt made with islanders worked out well.

Gonna go out on a limb here.... but can anyone explain to me why on earth Boston would trade for Matt Moulson?

This is a team that arguably already has too many forwards (at both centre and wing). Moulson's full year cap hit is $2.4m which they do not have space for on a prorated basis. The only semi-realistic thought process here would be if the B's wanted to move Ryder, and use the cap difference between the two to add a blueliner.

I'm not going to touch upon whether Wheeler for Moulson is a fair trade, but with regards to the bolded, that's just a really dumb statement to try and make your case with.

Original draft position has *no* bearing on which player is the better player *now*.
