If anything, the only way Weber is gone is if there is a prospect in the system to match or top him.
That reminds me. What would it take for us to get Roman Josi?

Thanks, Howson, for cleaning up MacLean's toxic waste. Welcome, Kekalainen; let's get good things built!
Only way these threads stop is if Weber signs somewhere else. Sorry, but that's how it is.
I would say that he'd stay in Nashville as he is the captain but they have an owner that doesn't want to dish out the money. I'm not sure how you own a professional sports franchise then go cheapo on your fans but it happens in every sport.

That may be true, but I dont see why so many people believe this bs.....Weber has said he is not going anywhere, and and the management has also said they know what they will have to give him and they are prepared to do so.
Please let Burke reunite Weber and Phanuef in Toronto
Meh, he'd just come to Toronto and flop like Komisarek and Phaneuf. Get a good forward to play with Kessel and worry about fixing that defense another day.
Article makes sense. He's going to be a RFA and is just the type of player teams will be prepared to offer a fat contract to. Nashville will have to decide if they're willing to match what could very well be a massive contract... More likely they decide that in the summer though. Highly doubt he's dealt during this season.

I'm betting he stays in Nashville too. I was just saying that him signing a lifetime won't stop the trade threads on hfboards. It never does.

"He wants to stay in Nashville! And they have said they want him back!"
- Please see every interview with every FA-to-be over the last 15 years...
We wouldn't have made him captain if he was going to leave in two years. Give it up he's not leaving. He's said that, mgmt has said that and everybody who's actually pays attention to the Preds knows that. Unless of course you actually believe a random Swedish newspaper.
Load of garbage. I have heard nothing but positive things when it comes to Weber-Nashville relations.
That said, as a Boston fan I would offer:
Toronto's 1st 2011
Boston's 1st 2011
Joe Colborne
Zach Hamill
to get the conversation going. Chances are good Nashville would also want David Krejci but I'll let me GM handle the details.
Thank God your not the GM
4 first rd picks for Weber and David Krejci?????????
Toronto's first - Likely a Top 5
Boston's 1st Likely to 20
Colbourne 1st rd pick 16th overall
Zach Hamill 1st rd pick 8th overall
and
David Krejci 2nd rd pick 64th overall- likely a top centre in the league.
for one defenceman who is a RFA asking for big money who
was a 2nd rd pick 49th overall.
Wow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and your serious!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Chara (left shot) and Weber (right shot) passing the puck back-and-forth taking one-timers and scaring the piss outta the shot blockers/goalie/their own teammate in front.
Almost no chance Nashville deals him. He'll re-sign. But for the hell of it, it would definitely take a franchise type of player to pry him away. New Jersey seems like a good fit and with Parise possibly on the way out that would be a pretty fair swap. At the same time, why would the Preds be willing to pay Parise all that cash when they "supposedly" couldn't pay Weber around the same amount. I don't buy into small market teams not being able to hold onto star players, it's bogus most of the time. Look at Kovy in Atlanta, they offered max dollars and he still turned it down.

Never though I'd say this about someone as good as Weber but we don't need anymore d-man. For the love of god, we've got a dozen NHL d-men and more money invested on the blue line then any other team in the entire league.

lol Like that has any bearing on whether Boton or any team overpay for Weber. I would love for the avs to trade for him and I would give up anyone not named Stastny, Stewart and Duchene.
