My "Parise Vs Weber" proposal from last year might come true

Parise would bring some offensive flair to a team that needs a star forward cause they have a ton of solid d-men in their pipeline. He would be reunited with his good friend Ryan Suter and Weber would kick ass on our blueline.

If ever a move like this were to happen, it would go down at the draft. After the trade would be announced by Bettman, Lou would walk to the podium and select Adam Larsson.

God, make this come true plz

In other words, the pieces necessary to make such a deal? Hejduk, Cumiskey and a second doesn't get it done.

I was thinking more O'Reilly+Hishon and a first, hell I'd even throw Shattenkirk or Liles.

O'Reilly+Hishon and a first won't even get you a Shea Weber fart... C'mon man, this is a ****ing All-Star stud we are talking about.

And no, Shattenkirk won't make or brake the deal.

The Avs only have 5 players on their roster and 1 pick in the next draft? Yikes!

The Avs have lots of cheap young roster players. Most of them suck like Cumiskey, Hunwick, Jones etc but some are actually good players.

Stewart, Galiardi, O Reilly, Shattenkirk.

I believe it. Nashville just can't keep their players. We see this happening every year.

And imo, Weber is overrated here on HF. Put him in a bigger hockey market and more people will be aware of his flaws.

Might be a lot of future to be giving up, but I'd do it in a heartbeat.

Weber is not worth that.

I'd love him for the Ducks but sadly they have no expendable assets.

Parise for Weber sounds like a good deal though.

i would never trade dipietro for lundqvist!

Yes, because they lost Suter so easily after those troubles with his free agency contract, and Rinne bolted first chance he got, and Legwand and Erat have been playing somewhere else for so long now...

I do concur that Weber is a tad overrated, though. One would think he was immortal or something.

(And yes, they have the money. They've planned for it.)

You're bringing up a list of guys that haven'
t left yet, but the fact is they do have money issues in Nashville and lose players as a result.

Management signs guys they identify as their core. You have yet to name anybody that Preds identified as their core and lost. The summer between 06-07-07-08 seasons does not count because we had a lame duck owner. Preds have identified Weber and Suter as part of their core. Unless their demands are ridiculous or they want to leave Nashville they aren't going anywhere much to the dismay of other teams fans.

Not sure exactly what Nashville wants, but how about:

Pavelski
Setoguchi
Braun/Demers
1st

Those all seem like Players Nashville would work well with.

Can also have Heatley if you want

Toronto would love to be involved in a trade for Weber

Kessel + a minor piece straight up for weber.

OR

Beauchemin+Caputi+Kadri+Any Prospect

I think both are fair, one is an elite but not gamebreaking first line winger signed on a reasonable deal for a RFA defenseman more fitting our style.

The second is more of a quantity as opposed to the first trades quality. Nashville would be aquiring a minute eating defenseman with a solid shot, a physical top6 winger, a bluechip forward prospect, and their choice of a prospect.

I would love to see a top4 consisting of weber, phaneuf, schenn, and aulie.

a quote straight from shea weber's mouth:

"Predators captain Shea Weber said he is not focused on his impending restricted free agency this summer.

"It's a place I love. I love it here; I love the guys. (The contract) is not my worry right now," Weber said after Sunday's practice. "I'm worried about winning hockey games and continuing to focus on that."

The veteran defenseman said he didn't think the contract "should come up at all" during the season. "We're focused on what we need to do in here."

I didn't say he would be. I was just saying if there was going to be a trade involving Eriksson, a 1st definitely wouldn't need to be added from Dallas.

If i was Dallas, i wouldn't move him for anyone.

Go to Minnesota and reform that beastly tandem with Burns, Shea! But seriously, I wouldn't object.

If Weber wants to go, he will.

If he has said he will not re-sign, then there are only a couple of options to try for some value. There is the offer sheet, this offseason, which has some return.

He might be traded, now, in a hockey deal. Or, he could be dealt at the deadline, for an overpayment.

I'd see what the bidding is before I'd make a decision.

Look at the Devils record over the last 20 years buddy. Even the best have a bad year once in a blue moon.

I could see a deal for Weber at the deadline to Boston. Leafs pick going the other way and some other pieces.
