I bought you a cabernet sauvignon tonight. It pairs well with beef as in our newest mod.

I have Chillable Red Franzia in a pint glass. I've found that is the best Beef pairing.

I'm really wondering how many periods of shutout hockey the team has played cumulatively. It is just beyond belief that neither goalie has a SO yet.

Giroux and Carter had noticeably more jump than JVR tonight, although he was hustling hard on some shifts. His screen was perfect for the OT winner.

No he doesn't, being around Timonen gives him to much of an inferiority complex.

Another thing of note: Flyers didn't get called on any minor penalties this game. The only Flyers penalty was a 5 minute fighting major for Shelley which did not result in a Caps PP.

Yeah he had only one that I noticed. It was a clear he whiffed on and they just ran it into the zone and it got covered up. Pretty minimal.

I like that Lavi is giving JVR more string, the points aren't coming yet, but the effort and strong play is there, nice effort all-around.

BTW, great flow to the game, why? No penalties.

Ah, I remember that play. He had a good game then. I didn't notice Walker being a liability either.

Carle and Walker got pinned a few times, but overall Carle was fine

Yeah, that's all fine though, they can't be expected to completely shut down every offensive rush

Just because there weren't any penalties called doesn't mean that was the right thing to do. Ovie was high sticked in the first or second and the refs missed it. There were a couple of plays towards the end of the game that should have resulted in penalties but the refs had swallowed their whistles.

Playing 10-11 minutes a game also allows for Walker to not be torn up. Being honest, I do look forward to Pronger being back even when we are still winning..

I'd recommend you to a rehab facility if you didn't want Pronger back

To those who say Zherdev is only effective when he scores, I think tonight proved differently.

Zherdev played a good game. He's really fun to watch. So smooth passing and handling the puck.

Z was good, but he also had a horrible blind drop pass that is the sort of things that get him benched.

Although not happy about them letting the Caps tie it up, that was a thoroughly entertaining game.

I thought Z played really well tonight (and I'm not his biggest fan) although I'd have liked him to shoot more (same with Roo).

I thought Coburn was really good against the times he was matched up with Ovy.

Timonen. 'nuff said.

Great hit and great shot by Mez. It was a very satisfying win.

I just went through all 46 games so far, and the Flyers did not allow a goal in 59 of possible 138 periods, or ~42.75% of them (did not count overtime as a period. Only goals in regulation time count). That number is to me absolutely astonishing when considering that the team hasn't combined that for a shutout yet.

In the other hand, the Flyers have scored in 90 of those 138 periods, or ~65.2% of them.

I thought Zherdev was going to drop 'em with Erskine about midway through the second behind the Washington net. Then he must have thought, "Hey, I'm a Russian goal scoring machine. What am I doing getting physical?" and skated away.

Tell ya one thing ... all the booming shots Mesz takes from the point ... I'm amazed he only has 2 goals so far. AND his shots are GOOD, they very frequently hit the target or make it into a danger zone for a deflection.
