Montreal - Minnesota

With the injuries of Mac Pacioretty and Mike Cammalleri yesterday, we'll need a top 6 forward. With trades of Dominik Moore and The Wizz previously, we dont have a 2nd round anymore. There is my proposal

To Minnesota : 3rd round pick in 2011

To Montreal: Andrew Brunette

Deal or no deal?

That would seem like a fair deal. However you said top 6 forward. Brunette is getting older and slower.

Brunette for a third?

I doubt very much Minnesota would send him anywhere if that was the offers on the table.

We will be looking to move Brunette closer to the deadline, but if we're close to a playoff spot, I don't think they will move Brunette. If this was at the deadline, I'd say yes. As of right now, no.

Brunette is huge on the PP, but is getting much slower (not that he was fast to begin with).

If that's the case, then I don't think Montreal would attempt anything. If Cammy is back in 5-6 weeks, which is the rumored return date, then trading for Brunette at the deadline isn't going to do much.

Seeing as 2nds were picked up for some more mediocre players (Dominic Moore, Belanger) in the past, I guess I don't see this happening unless it's a 2nd rounder.
