Big chance for Avery and/or Drury here. The kids have been the ones to step up in the absence of roster players thus far. Now it's their turn. Seriously.
What's that flushing sound I just heard? Playoff hopes?
I don't know, every time someone went down this season they have found a way to hold it together. Hopefully this time is no different. But with Dubinsky and Callahan out and Gaborik struggling things aren't looking good.
Damn, that suuuuuuucks. Going to be a rough month.
In the next 4 weeks the Rangers play 11 games (which is a low total in thanks to the break), but 7 of them are against playoff teams and one against Carolina who's on their heels.
NOT a good time.
Yeah, tonights a must win.
Anisimov, Wolski... have to step up big time.
Boyle has to regain his scoring touch. Fedotenko has to pot a few. Stepan and MZA have to continue to play well. A couple more shorties from Prust wouldnt hurt.
This one came out of left field. That's the Rangers' leading scorer and a player that logged 20+ minutes per game. Out of all the injuries, this one may hurt the Rangers the most.
While this really, really sucks - the team's shown resiliency thus far. Scoring just got a hell of a lot more difficult with Dubie out, but they'll be alright.
Paging Marian Gaborik, Paging Marian Gaborik, theres a telephone call at the front desk.
He'll go into his 1 goal a game mode for the next 2 weeks, but he'll be the only one scoring.
This injury means a couple things;
Wolski trade looks pretty smart in hindsight.
Every single one of the players we expected to be big producers for this team have suffered long term injuries this season; Gaborik, Frolov, Prospal, Callahan, Dubinsky, and to a lesser extent, Drury and Christensen
Zuccarello and Newbury are here for the immediate time being.
Avery's responsibilities will increase, including his offensive expectations.
Gaborik has to produce, he absolutely has to be the go-to guy.
