He has 3 at the moment, right? I wouldn't be surprised with 10, but I'll pick the under. He always seems to give up that ONE goal when it looks like he's cruising toward a shutout.

I don't think he's going to reach 10 shut outs this season. They should focus on extending his 30-win/season streak instead.

Good bump, there's still quite a bit to go... I'm going to rescind my old vote and say he may very well exceed 10 SOs.

he will get 9 shutouts, and in what looks like the game will be his 10th, he will let in a softy late in the 3rd.

I'm still not sure he'll bag 10, but it's definitely achievable. Go Hank!

With 35 games left on the schedule, I could see him getting 3 more.

it's basically a guarantee he'll get 10 shutouts at this point

Shutout #s to me are vastly overrated.
That's the problem when judging and comparing goal tenders. You're save % could be high and you're GAA can be low while putting up lots of W's but, if you're not seeing nearly as many quality shots as other goalies, everyone will say you're over rated (and vice versa).

With the injuries in front of him, nothing is guaranteed.

Agreed. He just has to keep up his recent play. He has slowly crawled into the top 5 for all major goaltending stats after a relatively inconsistent start (for his standards). But I think he should be capable of getting some shutouts once (if?) we get healthy down the stretch.

Considering that the season's only about half over, and he's already got 7, it isn't out of the realm of possibility. It'll be interesting to see how all the injuries come into play, but it hasn't been much of a problem for him as of yet so hopefully he can keep it up.

I agree, would rather see him get his 30+ wins. I think he gets 8 SO. Team is way too depleted at the present time!

I think all the injuries increase his shutout chances, the team might need to play a little more conservatively with such a young team in front of Hank.

The injuries are actually forcing us to play a tight defensive game since we don't have much goal scoring.

I wouldn't be surprised if he got 12, and would be shocked if he ends with less then 10.

15 is the record (well it's really 22, but that was back in the 20s). He probably won't hit that, but 10 is still pretty awesome. The Dominator hit 13 that's 2nd since the expansion era.

10 is a nice #, plus leading the league = Vezina trophy

Does anyone else think this would've been Hank's Vezina year if Thomas wasn't playing out of his ****ing mind?

I know he's gone through a rough strech, but more than likely he'll end up with 10+ shutouts, a save percentage equal to or better than any other goalie in the league past Thomas, and especially now he's going to start a very respectable amount of games rivaled probably only by Miller (i'm not at home and don't feel like checking that but I think Miller's still the best comparison games played wise).

In a non-standout year for most goalies past Thomas, I think Hank would've been given the nod based on these plus his past acheivements, probably.

I'm gonna throw Pekke Rina's name into the discussion. He's having a freak year and I think will easily be a finalist.

I don't think Henrik get's the Vezina had it not been for Thomas. HOWEVER, Plenty of games left to change that around. He just hasn't been all that dominant. Lead league in SO's is nice. He's been great in Shootouts and has made some OUTSTANDING saves this year. He's been good, if not great but not the top 5.

He stops all the hard ones and lefts in a few softies here and there which is frustrating for him and us. Someone needs to give Henrik an aderall before each game I think

I wouldn't even think Lundqvist was getting the Vezina even if Thomas wasn't dominant. Lundqvist has been himself, but not as consistent, in my opinion.

I think if some of the 1 goal games during the losing streak went the other way a lot of guys would have a different sentiment, personally.

I agree Hank hasn't looked like Hank at some points (some of the slump, some time earlier in the season too) but at other times he's looked unstoppable IMO.
