then an additional draft pick based on the deal and the term.

High end NYR property --- Staal, MDZ, Kreider etc. --- not applicable here.
Rangers have no need for Orr at this point.

Trading Boyle at this point would be a mistake. This season might just be a flash in the pan, but he's second in goals so far this season on a team that has had issues scoring at several points over the coarse of this season.

Something like Gilroy, Vtank or Grachev, WAS 2nd in 2011, and a conditional 2nd in 2012 if he re-signs.

Im simply suggesting even though he may be a poor mans Kaberle even if its to the nth power he still has some puck moving skills.

Add in prospect and pick and thats what the Rangers trade imo.

Gilroy and either prospect + prospect

or Gilroy + prospect + pick
Valentenko is a better defender than any defenseman the Leafs put on the ice last night.

I'm not putting my faith in him -- I simply grasp the concept that he's the one who's making decisions for the team.

I always see these Boyle and Campbell comparisons... and sorry, they don't fly. Both are better defensemen and bring more to the table.

A better comparison in my opinion is Lubomir Visnovsky... whom I think is still better.

2010/03/03 Anaheim Ducks traded Ryan Whitney and a 6th round selection in 2010 to the Edmonton Oilers for Lubomir Visnovsky.
2008/06/29 Los Angeles Kings traded Lubomir Visnovsky to the Edmonton Oilers for Jarret Stoll and Matt Greene.

Neither one of those deals really warranted a significant return, which I think is what Burke is insisting on. Without a doubt no doubt a reason Kaberle is still a Leaf to this day. This is really his last chance to get anything in return for Kaberle however so I think he's either forced to settle or just keeps Kaberle and hopes he'll resign.

Boyle? marginally. Campbell? Just because he's paid $7m doesn't make him worth $6m.

You also seem to struggle with the concept of Kabelre having significantly more value than either of Boyle/Campbell had to their respective teams.

No one seems to be struggling here outside of you. And yes, both bring the PMD aspect Kaberle brings and both are a similar level in that regard. However both are also more physical, and better in their own end. So marginal nothing, both are better dmen.

And no one cares what kind of value Kaberle has to the Leafs. You're in a trade proposal thread in case you missed it, so whats trying to be established is Kaberle's value to another team.

Visnovsky is a very fair comparable.

I wouldn't put Kaberle in the superstar offensive d-man catagory. Very good, yes. Superstar, no.

Boyle is not good defensively at all.

And Campbell isn't close to Kaberle. How can you think Campbell is better?

i know because kabs plays for the leafs he's worth a 2nd round pick but i'm pretty sure sather/burke and kabs would work out a deal for a new contract before the trade and the package would start with a 1st round pick and the player/prospect included with the pick i'm not sure.

Yeah, that doesn't really matter.

Boyle is a step above Kaberle, and Campbell is also better, just not a step above like Boyle. Those are both very comparable deals, and you could even say that Kaberle would get less, considering his age. I know that every player on the Leafs is gold to you, but it's not like that in the real world.

He has one goal so far this season. Currently sits in 12th overall in d-man scoring.

Yes, superstar jumps off the page when I look at his offensive stats.

he's a playmaker not a goal scorer. you should watch some leaf games before you spout off and look stupid.

If you read my previous post, and the last part of the post you quoted, I stated he was not a superstar offensive D-man. He isn't. He is a very good d-man, yes, but he is not in the elite/superstar offensive d-man catagory.
