Penguins lose, Rangers lose, Bruins lose, Flyers win. Life is good.

(Nothing against the Bruins, but they're chasing us, so getting some breathing room is good).

Caps and Bolts both won though.

So Neil ran at Giroux - he got really mad about it and took a nice run at somebody else then he got into a fight. Shelley clearly turns down Carkner to get to Neil which is the right thing to do and promptly punches his head in. Carkner is mad and starts going with O'Donnell who turtles and Carkner lays off him which was the right thing to do.

Not sure why some Sens fans were so mad about how this all went. Their team was obviously very frustrated and angry. I would have liked to see Carkner and Shelley go as much as the next guy but Neil needed to get pounded and it all worked out in the end and nobody got hurt.

It seemed like most Sens fans in the thread on the main board felt the same way - just pissed about Shelley turning down Carkner. No idea why anyone would say that Shelley was afraid of Carkner - the guy has fought every heavyweight in the league for the last 10 years.

BTW, Hovercraft. You made a quip in a closed thread on the main board about Hartnell being a bad fight because he has terrible balance?

Was this just a joke on Hartnell's skating ability, or do you really think that? Hartnell's actually a pretty good fighter.

I know he can fight, I just find he often falls over very early, even if he is landing punches (like tonight)

I come in peace, let's talk hockey.

When you are up 5-2 you shouldn't charge and leave your feet. I think that is why Potvin said it was unnecessary. Hit him? Fine. Don't leave your feet when the game is out of hand.

Potvin is one of the greatest D to play the game and knew how to answer the bell. He did give props for Giroux. He is old school, guys. But I admire Giroux for answering the bell and both guys were stupid to take their helmets off, winced when Foligno hit the ice.

So Neil went after Giroux which is what you would expect. Shelley, for you to rationalize it that way is your opinion, but he should have went with Carks. Fighting a smaller guy and beating him, barely, more like a draw does not deserve a pat on the back...he wussed out. Same with Briere. Have to say that looked pretty embarrassing for Flyers to walk away from fighting. The guys holding the "Old School Hockey" sign should have put it down. Holmgren went to grab a coffee I'm sure!

But it was fun to watch. We suck, you guys have a strong, deep team. Like your team a lot, actually. Will have to see if Bobrovsky can carry the load or not. Coming out of the East I don't thing you guys have much to worry about, except injuries. Seriously, nice for team building but wouldn't want to lose Giroux or Carter to wrist injuries!

Although would have been nice to see Fisher - Rochards tangle.

Saw highlights. I hate both Sens goals, but I like Richie's points. How did Pronger look?

Bingo.
