Yes he will come. He and Jack Johnson planned this in their hotel room in junior or something. It will happen people.

It's hard to imagine Crosby with any other team than the Pens but who knows, anything can happen. His relationship with Lemieux, who is the owner of team, and the fact that the Pens are a competitive team every year are certainly good reasons for him to stay for a pretty long time.

I can only imagine the posts on these boards if he ever decides to go to another team. The site might crash or something.

the possibilities hurt my mind to think about

The same way Crsoby was a fan of Montreal is no different then Alex Ovechkin being a fan of Toronto, however I don't go around saying the Leafs will sign him when he becomes a UFA or he will want to sign with them.

I didn't want to break it to you guys like this, but you deserve to know before it comes out in the media.

Crosby, Ovie and Stamkos have made a mutual decision to sign with Carolina to form a super team. They decided on Raleigh because it offers the right mix of nightlife, media exposure and hockey tradition.

The official announcement will be made during a 1-hour special on Versus.

Unless they treat Crosby like ****, he's retiring a Penguin, I'm afraid.

Sorry, but Ovechkin recently admitted to watching Mario as a kid, so if Sid leaves the Pens, we got dibs on him!

If he signed with the Habs, I wonder if he would still be a whiner/diver?

I'd love to say that i completly agree. But it won't Happen. It's the Penguins organisation that made him the player he is today, and risks are that he will stay with the Pens until they find its time for a change of scenery (A la Koivu/Modano& Others)

The only time i think Crosby will consider playing for the Habs will be in his mid 30's. Plus, he dosn't seem unhappy in Pittsburgh. I mean, yeah he has no wingers, but the teams win. My big concern is the Penguins can't have 3 number 1 centers on their teams. I personally think sooner or Later one of the three will leave, and i think if the Pens wana make crosby better, Malkin will leave due to his market value. If the Pens refuse to give Crosby any sort of help on the wings by 2013 and keeping Malkin and Staal, Maybe he will hit the market.

IMO, Money will never be a issue for Crosby. I think hes the kind of player that will sign to win.

lol @ people thinking that habs fans think this is even remotely possible. This has not been discussed since he has broken into the league. It crossed my mind ONCE and that was the day he was drafted. Other than that I don't think anyone takes this idea seriously.

Given this, Crosby will be able to obtain a contract that will pay him $12+ million per season.

Since Crosby has achieved the goal of bringing the Stanley Cup to Pittsburgh, will he set his sights on a new destination like Montreal when he becomes a free agent in 2013. He would play for his favorite childhood team and be in a larger market which would allow him to make more money.

Discuss
He still lives with the owner of his current team so I would guess he is not leaving the Penguins any time soon. Also I doubt he takes a true max 20% from any team. He has a ton of money and I doubt that money drives him as much as winning does. Plus he makes endorsements. He will probably take a little more than he makes now, and sign a contract that is as long as he thinks he can be sure he is on a competitive team.

Just my opinion.

Yeah...Pens will let Crosby be a UFA...riiiiiiight. You trade him, you don't let him walk...that's retarded.
