Great game, another solid win. Totally outclassed the Sens, both in hockey talent and straight class. Weird when we're the skilled team and not the ones gooning it up, eh boys?

Props to Carter and Giroux for fighting, I guess, but I don't want them to make it a habit. Too important to the team.

Flyers are 27-7-2 vs. the East this year. That is f'ing crazy.

I think Ill be happy if Bob just continues to let in just 2 goals a game. Pretty consistent lol. Kinda sucks though. Another game where it looks like he is going to get a s/o and the defense has 2 breakdowns that result in goals.

Anyone else think Roo's mane was looking sort of Clarke-esque when he fought Foligno?

And Potvin's an idiot. Not just for his comments about Roo after his cheap, dirty, practically career ending hit on Winchester (). It seemed like through the whole game he was making annoying little backhanded comments about the Flyers.

Yeah it was pretty bad. He tried to be as enthusiastic as he normally was, but mostly lost his voice after introductions. From then on he dropped his pitch significantly so he could make it through the game.

Yeah, why is it that all signs of this being a physical game were wiped out of the NHL highlights?

nhl.com highlights has the Giroux hit, but you can't embed it here

Kelly is the only going having a good year. Ruutu is washed up and not annoying anymore. Neil is the only heart and soul, as icky he may seem to many , on this team. He hits, he fights, he polices, without him we are the Montreal Canadiens.

I love Carkner but he can't hit because he is not mobile. Wicked fighter. You are right, and a guy like Jesse Winchester can do what Kelly does at half the price. Ruutu will be gone too.
Fair enough, but when you have only scored 105 goals all season it might be better to spend 5 million on a good top 6 forward rather than 3 3rd/4th liners. Fisher and Michalek are overpaid for the amount of offense they have been producing too. Kuba sucks at 3.7

Powe and Betts make chump change, and it leaves more money for the top 9.

Currently downloading the video of it. Torrent wouldn't start for a while for some reason, and now I'm leaving to pick up the parts for my new PC. I'll upload it when I come home, if you're lucky before I put my new PC together. I'll also be uploading Richies no look goal. Should only take about 10 minutes to cut the two pieces out and upload it.

Hey everyone, so I missed the game last night because I was driving up to Boston to visit my girlfriend. Sounds like I missed a good one. Can anyone give me a quick overview?

I watched YT vids of the fights and the Senators announcer said "at this point, I have no idea why Giroux did what he did to incite all of this". Did Giroux do something that sparked all of the fights?

Giroux had the nerve to hit Winchester. Apparently when a team is up by a few goals, they should let the other team have the puck or something. The key - Potvin is a pitiful, pitiful announcer. He's on a level with Jack Edwards and the Pittsburgh morons.

Flyers had a good first period, a bad second, and then took the game over in the third. Sens gooned it up (Meathead Neil trying to get at Giroux, for example), a number of fights occurred (Roo and Carter both fought), and the Flyers walk away with 2 points.

Nice to see Mezsaros get a goal after fumbling the puck leading to the SHGA.

1. Roo's hair is badass when his helmet is off and very much Clarke-esque. Clarke's was a little more curly than Roo's though.

2. Potvin was an Islander, most definitely some deep-rooted hatred for the Flyers organization.

I don't think he was expecting the pass. It looked like he was trying to rotate to the right point, but Kimo ripped him a pass back. He still fumbled it, so it is on him.

I still blame Leino though. Just before that Leino had space and a clear passing lane with Kimo sneaking up, and decides to spin around, do nothing and bring it back.

Glad I stayed up to watch this one. No I dont have a bed time, but im in Wales, so 5 so 5 hours ahead.

It seems we are all in agreeance that the announcers were brutal. I couldnt believe it. At one point that Potvin moron was criticising the Flyers for putting their top PP unit on the ice with a 5 goal lead, saying that they should have 3rd/4th liners out. Then once Shelley et al come on the ice, it turns into a complaint as to why our tough guy is out there, looking to stir things up. Which is it Potvin, you hypocritical dumbass.

the nerve of giroux...to level winchester like that with his head down skating up the boards in his offensive zone. it's like, what are you trying to do, prevent a scoring chance? and don't even get me started on lavi's decision to put the top PP unit out there at the end of the game. what's he thinking, you need goals to win hockey games? just disgraceful guys. we should be embarrassed!

That was a fun game. Richards was a beast. Meszaros had a pretty strong game again. Pronger looked pretty good for being the first game back. If Bobrovsky continues playing like this I won't complain too much.

Giroux does it all as well. That check was a beauty.

Leino needs to play simpler though. That line still produces offensively though, so it's not extremely alarming, but it was the defensive short comings everyone worried about when the line was formed, so it's a little troubling.
