Does he belong to the NHL? Is he a KHL type of guy? Do you want your team to sign Nik in the summer? What money and term?

Whom ever would rather not have a 4th line winger chip in 14 ginos, in the first half of year, at that deal, with his linemates, is just being silly

Assuming that the Isles can't get anyone better....yes. We desperately need skill.

He could possibly be sick on a line with Malkin, if we get someone decent with size to go on the LW, so yes definitely.

The only way I'd want the Canucks to sign him is if it's for the kind of money that would probably have him running back to the KHL..

He has enough skill that someone will want to give him a try. I'd say the only teams definitely out of the running would be NY, Philly, and Columbus. Notice anything in common about that trio?

Yea, I think he could help with our 3rd line scoring but I wouldn't want to give him much more than he is making now.

Send him to the Pens. They could really use his skill on the wing. And his defensive liabilities won't be a huge issue if he and Crosby/Malkin can keep the other team pinned. I could see him signing another cheap 1 year deal to rip it up with the Pens so he can cash in the next season.

As an Isles fan no but if it came down to signing PAP or Shremp. I would take Z. All in all the team would not be better and pretty much the same since Z doesn't play defense.

I know he can be lazy but the Pens need talent on the wing in the worst way so I say yes.

Z wants to play NHL signing his last contract proved that. I think someone will give him 2 - 2.5 Mio a year. he will net you 30 goals a year playing with decent linemates.

he does have downsides but he still is an elite scorer and some teams will be willing to take that risk.

Hey question Ukraine train, did Nik ever play for Team Ukraine or did he become a traitor like a bunch of other Ukrainians and play for Russia?

Avs wouldn't sign him. He's not a north-south player like the Avs want.

If the Caps end up losing Semin and Knuble to free agency/retirement/whatever, then it might be worth rolling the dice on a 1-2 year deal. It would leave RW in Washington pretty bare, otherwise. There are some other options out there (Williams, Ryder, etc), so no reason to go balls to the wall to get him, but his skill set could fit into the top 6 in Washington rather nicely if Semin leaves.

If I remember correctly, Nik was born in the Ukraine, but grew up in Moscow. He played on the international level for Russia.

canucks just dont have the type of team for him, but he is worth signing for any team in need of offense. he does have a khl personality though, which is why his price is so damn low

If there is any team that can have one soft physically but high skilled offensively forward its Pittsburgh. The grit and size is around him or can get signed/resigned in this off season. We have except for down the middle nothing but grinders at forward.

Pittsburgh can afford to have one guy that doesn't hit and plays soft but knows how to put the puck into the mesh on a pass from Crosby or Malkin. If Tangradi makes the team next season it could be a poor mans Malone - Malkin - Sykora line with Tangradi - Malkin - Zherdev.

As long as he comes at the same or close too the dollar amount he is commanding now. Id gladly take him.

My thoughts exactly, thus putting geno in a place to succeed and get back to his 100+ point form.
