Looking at the last ten games, Habs are the hottest team in the league. Keep it up boys!

he continues sticking up for his teammates like that and White is going to make it hard for management to send him down. also see 'fan favorite' written all over this guy.

He was doing that all pre-season long. That, and putting up some points as well. Once injuries are settled with, he'll likely go back down.

Losing Chara in free agency has to be one of the all time dumb moves tho. How that was even a choice for Sens IDK.

Havlat for zip too.

When you let that kind of legit talent leave with nothing to show for it, you're going to get years like this one.
When Bryan Murray was asked about the Redden/Chara decision his opinion was : "Redden is a good guy, great teammate and an Ottawa staple, but there is only one Chara" . He was right.

Can't blame Murray for all of this. The cupboard was bare and he needs 5 years to turn it around an re-tool. Muckler killed the team. He got us Karlsson, Lehner, Cowen and Rundblad, Butler. He needs more time.

Hindsight is easy: but put your self in his shoes, Sens were good last year and added an elite PP guy in Gonchar. We should have been better.

You guys have a nice team, but you guys are lucky that your free agent moves have worked better. Credit to The Ghost and Gainey for some good moves like Gionta and Cammaleri...but you don't have much in the cupboard either.

Sens "fans" should feel embarrassed.

Seriously Ottawa and Florida and mini-home games.

How does anyone go about replacing that in one or two years? Gotta hit free agency but that's a crap shoot. In this day and age you have to save money on young players in the draft...and Murray hasn't drafted high enough or been here long enough for that...Karlsson's gonna be a good one.
Muckler made his share of mistakes, but when he left the Sens were in a good position and it wouldn't have been hard to keep them there.

And yes free agency can be a bit of a crap shoot, but the contracts to Kovalev and Gonchar were absurd for two players well past their primes

hamilton bulldogs > ottawa senators

lost in the shuffle:
- I thought Weber was very solid
- Pouliot is constantly getting better, this guy is becoming a legit top six forward

Our cupboard might seem bare (I think we still have some promising prospects tho) but it's only because our prospects are now on the team and making a huge difference. Our young core of players (Eller, Pacioretty, Pouliot, Kostitsyn, Subban and Price) are all looking very good.

Personally I wouldnt be surprised to see Clouston stay and Murray go. The Sens will obviously make a firesale at the deadline and Clouston is pretty good with young players so..

Looks like the Dogs are still flying, despite not having DD, Patches, White and Enqvist. They won 7-3 tonight.

You guys gotta be kidding! Either we didn't watch the same game, or I got the wrong number on White, but he was absolutely invisible out there! (Apart from his useless fistycuff near the end).

This game feels so good right now.

I'm so glad we've turned it around after our big slump and are catching up with Boston for the division.

Actually I WAS blaming Muckler and not Murray. Murray has shown he can draft guys - Anaheim for example, so maybe he needs more time to turn it around. We'll see if he gets it.

Gonchar sucked in last year's play-offs and Kovalev was heading down when he left the Habs. You can't count on 35+ players to lead your core, which Murray has done.

They went after guys who were in their prime, with the exception of Gill who is a depth/role player and a good dressing room guy.

Not true. We have a lot of young guys playing right now. Pacioretty, Subban, Weber, White, Eller, Price, Engvist, Desharnais, and Pyatt are all between the ages of 21 and 23. 6 rookies played tonight, including 2 on D. That's a lot. We're under-rated when it comes to our youth.

We also have a lot of guys in the 24-27 category: Pouliot, Kostityn, Plekanecs, and now Wiz. Gorges too even tho he is injured and is out for the season.

There's a good young core developing in Montreal right now. Lots of rookies and sophmores. And, we still have some good prospects in Leblanc, Kristo and Bournival upfront, and Brendon Nash on D. Jury is out on Tinordi tho.

We could still use a power forward and/or a pure talent upfront, but the Habs have a good core of young players. Our D needs to get younger too but we have the ability to do that. There's a ton of flexibility here.

Just the fact that the crowd made it sound like Habs were playing at the Bell Center is enough of a shame already.

I sympathize. Too many Canadian teams being bottom feeders. Not good.

Bryan Murray traded their 'franchise' player in Heatley for about 2 sticks and 3 rolls of tape. The franchise died right there. All in all, you traded away Hossa and Heatley for nothing. And Havlat... Oh, and you lost Chara for a song. And others...Volchenkov left because you preferred signing an over-the-hill PP specialist.

The Shawville loser never took care of the goalie situation with a serious alternative. No, Pascal Leclaire wasn't a serious one. He signed Alex freaking Kovalev. That enough should have been his death wish. Then he signed the worst UFA, Gonchar. Anybody who watched last year's playoffs knew the guy was washed up. Either his pro scouts suck the bone, either his hockey judgment is just plain bad.

Yes, John Muckler didn't help you much. In fact, you guys are still having fun at Pierre Gauthier's expense by calling him the Ghost, but fact of the matter is: him and Marshall Johnston brought the franchise to its pinnacle. And the other two have demolished it.

Now, next year, when Alfredsson will be 38 and look like an old man, and Spazza won't be worth a nickle, where will be the team?

You dare to say that our cupboard is empty? Our cupboard just crushed you 7-1. All the kids are in Montreal. You don't have a Subban, a Pacioretty. Karlsson will be good, but not great. Subban will. Pacioretty is turning into the power forward you're dreaming of. And we have a goalie worth to be called that. And he's 23. What do you have?

Our Hamilton team is strong as hell, and is one of the youngest teams in the league. At least used to be with all the players now with the big club. I don't think you can say that our cupboard is empty.

habs have a huge amount of quality depth up front. not game breakers, just lots of solid goal scorers and two-way players. habs will be very fine up front - and have the money to spend. D is another matter but as mentioned subban, weber, gorges, wiz are all 26 or younger - oh yeah and Carey price is 23

White made a good hit on a Sens player just before Pleks took off for his 2nd goal. He made the guy he was about to hit hurry the pass to the point.

He also was on the PK and went in on a 2-on-1 shorthanded break with Desharnais, but didn't score. As for the fight, he was standing up for Moen who had been crosschecked from behind and into the boards by Lee. Standing up for a teammate is a good thing!

White played just under 12 minutes on the 4th line and was a +1.

In other words, he effectively did his job as a 4th line forward.

Just thinking about the fact that Gainey made him an offer and some fans protesting in front of the Bell Center makes me shudder. He's a poison -- an individualist in a team sport. Thank God he himself decided to go elsewhere.
