RT @sportsnetbroph: Just spoke with agent Don Meehan. He says no word on Nabokov being scooped off waiver wire 16 minutes ago via TweetDeck

Totally agree. It's really silly.

Yea, really silly until a team like Detroit, Vancouver or Philly goes out and signs a few overseas players to boost their team down the stretch.

well... should they be punished for spending the resources\time on that player to get him to agree??

No way.

Current system stinks, and neither of my teams have been affected by it, so I have no bias.

So what does it mean if no one puts a claim on him and Detroit actually gets Nabokov? I mean, that's just too weird if it happens.

What does this even mean?

Everyone agrees it's silly in every single scenario. I don't get the passive aggressiveness in your post.

#senators won't claim Evgeni Nabokov on waivers. They don't like the no-trade clause.

And it's not suspicious at all that a good goaltender that could be acquired for less than the league minimum passes over the many teams that need a starting goaltender.

Nope, not at all.

Well at least Holland was able to shake off one potential buyer.

Translated: Senators won't claim Evgeni Nabokov on waivers. They don't like to win and nor do they want the best goalie their franchise would have ever seen. Sorry Damian Rhodes.

if he makes it thru, its just a signal of how much pull Ken Holland has amongst GMs.

not sure i care either way. But its made for an interesting 24 hour period.

Is he some sort of god? Like others have said in this post, I am sure other Gm's care more about their jobs than Holland's job. They are going to do what is in the best interest of their team and try to improve/fix it. Not worry about what Ken Holland thinks of them.

not a very good argument. do you really think there is any room for personal grudges at that level? its all business. And for division rivals like Nashville, Chicago or St louis, who arent likely to be trading with the Wings anyway, it hardly would matter

We need a lottery pick, not someone to lead us to 10th.

If Ottawa don't make the claim, it's clear that the tank is on, which sucks for the Bruins.

In that case, I'll guess that San Jose gets him. If I was forced to make a crazy prediction, I'd say Vancouver.

No at this point they're aiming for Ryan-Nugent Hopins or Gabriel Landeskog

EDIT: and while PIT was in the hole to pkup 5 straight top 5 picks, we were on top of our division/conference. (Playoff appearance, 12 of the pas 13 years)
