Alright question for the "chili experts" among us:
I decided while I was grocery shopping today that I was going to make chili for dinner tomorrow. I knew there were a few things I needed for the recipe that I use and knew most of them off the top of my head. I ended up buying diced tomatoes instead of stewed tomatoes. I'm wondering if the diced tomatoes will work the same or if I will need to get a can of stewed?

I think you'll be fine with the diced - especially if you normally cook it long enough for the stewed tomatoes to break down, or tear them up by hand when you add them to the chili.
Diced, crushed, and stewed should all be pretty much interchangeable, since they're usually just tomatoes. Tomato puree or sauce - not so much, since they're sometimes just reconstituted from tomato paste and water.

Honestly, I don't think it will matter much.
The important ingredients are beans and just some sort of tomato base. Anything else is whatever you want.

The Panthers announcer likes to use zany pop culture quotes after goals. Was it him?
Binge day started a little early as I had a roll with my dinner (actually, as conveyance for the italian sausage at the game tonight that was dinner). Eh.
On tap for the rest of the day will be at least one grilled cheese sandwich (picked up some good sliced cheddar) and a baguette with some brie, likely as part of breakfast.

Beans?
The important parts of chili are meat, spices and peppers. Beans were filler introduced by the poor to stretch the meat since canned beans were cheap and available.
JLR has the right of it, if a recipe calls for tomatoes, any of the three (stewed, diced, or crushed) work with the variation being cook time.
