This is exciting, there's almost no chance 29 other teams pass on a solid, veteran goalie for half of league minimum.

Doug Wilson must be the King of D-bags among GM's then. He's yanked a guy off of waivers and signed a RFA to a contract offer in the last year.

Other GM's probably see that he calls, pick up the phone and scream "MEANIE!", before hanging up.

...or it's just your usual business setting.

True, but it doesn't hurt to get on his good side. Everything he touches seems to turn to gold and he has close connections all over the league. Yzerman, Bowman, and Mclellan to name a few. Former Wings like Quincey, Leino, Kopecky, Samuelsson, etc... have been solid experienced players benefitting many teams.

Claiming him, means that you gotta spend money. Therefore, I don't expect the Isles to claim him.

Here's the thing though: I like Murray's drafting a lot, and it's too late for this season, so can we keep Murray until after the draft to ensure a top 5 pick?

Watching him lose his starting position to Ray Emery. What were you watching?

And yes Hasek is one of the all time greats...but not at the top of his game in Ottawa.

Hasek was dominant in Ottawa, had a GAA of like 2.1something

For half the season that he was a Sens, his record was:

28-10-4 2.09 GAA .925 SV% 4SO

Yeah he "lost" his starting position to Emery. He got hurt at the Winter Olympics..

Wasn't it in Ottawa that he continued to milk his groin injury and they got pissed off at him?

What? How about the Sharks and Predators. They didn't care. Why should anyone else. Just because Detroit is one of the most stable and respectable franchises in the league doesn't give them some special lee-way or special treatment.
