I don't like how FA's have the waiver rule...

They should do something about that..........

Entire season. THey must waive him. and offer him up to every team that claimed him first, then to the entire league. IF he clears that, then they can trade him.

I wonder if they offered him a contract and Nabokov honestly though that if he wanted to come back and play, he was going to have to play for the Islanders.

Flyers had a deal on the table for him at the draft, I bet he's wishing he took that.

More bad advice from an agent. It can't be that hard, I'll help them make dumb decisions for less than professional agents are being paid I bet.

How do you figure that......they have DiPietro, who played the other night, along with both Lawson and Poulin. By my count that's 3 goalkeepers for 1 spot with Nabokov coming in.

Imagine at the trade deadline you acquire Nabokov, Streit and Okposo?

This is the Islanders Dubi revenge.

Now, since they "claimed" him off waivers, can they now turn around and trade him to Det for say a 2nd rnd draft pick or does he have to stay on their roster for the remainder of the season?

Well, play a few months for the isles, make 250k, get a new contract next year. Things could be worse.

To the Islanders.

They couldn't pass up the deal to have a solid goalie for a year cheap. It is best for them so their young guys can develop properly in the minors instead of rushing them hurting any of their future potential. Now, come trade deadline, anyone think he waves his NMC to go to a contender(If this is possible)? You know, use Islanders as a stepping stone to show he can still play in the NHL. I am just happy the Wings didn't get him. And as a from the previous thread, seems like the Islanders didn't care to screw over the Wings like some were saying. Guess Holland will have it out for Snow now.

As if no one saw this coming...

And to the people saying the Islanders could just trade him, or if he would waive his NMC to go to a contender.... please read the other thread and the 50+ posts explaining why that won't work.
