1) I cannot stomach trading both Spezza and Karlsson
2) The amount of movement in that trade is making me dizzy
3) Getting those 4 assets would be freaking sweet, and my sensitive stomach cannot handle all that.
4) See above. And below.

I understand Ottawa has no real incentives to do this deal, but if one team is giving too much assets here, it's definitely Columbus.
Its more the fact that he does like 2 or 3 of these a day. I dont mind because, well, who cares if he posts? It doesnt take up space or anything and if someone really minds them this much they can just block him... but yeah some people get very agitated by how often he posts em. I say go for it, once in a while theres a pretty solid proposal and its clearly all in fun, but yeah... I guess some don't see it that way.
Please Stop The Madness. You're only pissing off both fanbases now.

Thanks, Howson, for cleaning up MacLean's toxic waste. Welcome, Kekalainen; let's get good things built!
Too many assets leaving Columbus. Value is probably good, and both of those players would be welcome on the CBJ. But both young centers + two other prime assets is tough.

...or you are just being a homer and overvaluing your own assets.
A potential top-5 pick in 2011, Ryan Johansen (last years' 4th overall who's one of the game's premiere centerman prospects, and a big one too!) + two young NHLers who were picked up 6th and 7th overall and are still developing...
This is easily worth Spezza & Karlsson.
Again, I'm not saying the Sens should do this deal because both players, especially Karlsson, should remain core pieces of the rebuild, but it's not like you'd be trading them for over-the-hill veterans.
BTW, Derick Brassard would be gold for Ottawa's market, considering he's from Hull and all.

Using that theory:
Phillips+Fisher straight up for Nash.
1st overall pick+2nd round pick for 1st overall pick.
Overpayment from Ottawa but since Nash has done a lot more in the NHL it cancels out.

Where should I start...you seem to need a lot of contextual explanations to be able to understand this...and I don't have the will nor the time to do it.
In short, do I really need to explain the difference between Phillips and Voracek, in relation to them being former high picks? I guess an 11-year gap between their respective draft years is way too small of a gap, eh?
And by the way, neither Spezza or Karlsson would bring you even close to landing Nash.
I admit I have a little too much time on my hands this time of year. I think the value is fair and I also think it would help both teams. IMO CLB has to win now, yes they are giving up alot but so is Ottawa. Spezza/nash combination would be amazing and Karlsson on D enough said. Ottawa keeps Alfy in the organization to teach these young guys how to play hockey. Will it happen of course not, should it happen prob not, does it speark a good debate maybe
Can Ottawa lose Karlsson, Spezza I think they can.
Rundblad
Cowen
Phillips
Campoli
Gonchar
Carkner
Lee
Kuba
Wiercioch
Gryba
Ottawa has enough talent on D
Center
Brassard
Johansen
Fisher
Kelly
Winchester
good young center depth
Wingers:
Michalek
Alfy
Voracek
Foligno
Regin
Plus 2 top 10 draft picks where you can take the best player availiable because you have good prospects everywhere. I would pay money to see that team.

I would certainly bring a lot of premiere depth on the Sens's squad.
What about something centred around Rundblad for Brassard?
IMO, Ottawa needs a 2nd line centre with more point production than Fisher, and Brassard could become a good piece to deal with Johansson coming through the pipeline.
CBJ gets the PMD that they are seeking, additionally they save some cap space both long-term and short-term.
It would be nice to see what Nash and Spezza could do on the same line but...
Pyke too please.
?
My proposals are *possible*. They also are actually things that don't involve trading the franchise player, every day. They normally involve prospects or picks.

No, no, no, no.
We can't afford to give up either of Brass or Vermette without getting a top-6 center back. And the PMD we need needs to be a current NHL player. We have two maybe PMDs in the system already.
If you're trying to target our PMD need, you need to send a roster player. Prospects are a nonstarter.
(EDIT: To be fair, Rundblad is one of the few defense prospects we could happily take since he's a blue-chipper not playing in the AHL (we have no space there), but frankly it's not worth it because of the cost to get him.)
